UPDATES 2010

July 29

In spite of the dreadful weather the Inofficial Affenpinscher Breed Specialty July 25th

turned out to be a fantastic day for the Airescot Affenpinschers.

Our judge, the Swedish Toy specialist Torbjörn Skaar, had a record entry of 64 Affenpinschers.

Best Puppy In Show was Airescot Snow Racer (Ch Winterkloud Hector ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot),

proudly owned by Annika Kandelén, Sweden.

Torbjörn Skaar found his Best In Show Winner in our Multi Champion Winterkloud Frejya,

and BOS to her was her kennelmate Int Ch Winterkloud Hectow, who was also awarded the trophy for Best Head & Expression.

A son of Hector, Ch Airescot Good Fellow ex. Schnaffentangens Gimme Gimme was third Best Dog,

owned by Liz-Beth Liljeqvist, Sweden, handled today by Anita Andersson.
A son of Frejya, Airescot Merry Christmas by Ch Airescot Peer Gynt, was fourth Best Dog from Intermediate class,

owner/handled by Christer Ivarsson, Sweden.

A daughter of Frejya, Airescot Summer Fascination, "Fia", by GB Ch Linsgift Hairy Potter, was second Best Bitch.

and was also awarded the trophy for Best Swedish bred Affenpinscher.
Together with her litter sister A. Summer Temptation she also won Best Brace of the five competing,

again handled by Rita Gauthun, kennel Oceanwild, the owner of "Fia".

Best Veteran in Show was Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, the BIS-winner of the Swedish Breed Specialty
in 2007 and 2008, today so nicely handled by his co-owner Anita Andersson, kennel Terrietype.
She was of invaluable help to me this busy day with handling and administrating.

We congratulate the owners of all these winning dogs
but most of all we congratulate Sarah McGill in England, the breeder of Frejya and Hector.

July 19

Another month has passed since last Update here, filled with various things,
among them the preparation for the Annual Affenpinscher Inofficial Breed Show,

which will take place on Sunday July 25th, in connection with the Swedish KC All Breeds show in Köping,
where Affenpinschers will be judged Saturday July 24th.

For the Specialty we have a record entry of 64 Affenpinschers!

We have just had a lovely weekend at the Swedish KC All Breeds show in Alfta,
north of Stockholm. Our Ch Winterkloud Frejya was BOB, Group winner and ended up 3rd Best in Show!!!

Litter sister and brother Airescot Good Fellow and Airescot Goody Goody

(Ch Winterkloud Hector ex. Schnaffentangens Gimme Gimme) were awarded their qualifying CC's

for their Swedish titles. Good Fellow is owned by Liz-Beth Liljeqvist of Newfoundland fame in Sweden
and he won his title winning three CC's in a row.

At the Alfta show the breed was judged by Cindy Pettersson and the group by Paul Stanton.

Best In Show was judged by Leif Ragnar Hjort, Norway.

Frejya was quite ill from a gastric infection, which she caught on our way back from England

after her success with winning her British title.

She was entered for the World Show in Denmark, hoping to repeat her World Winner title from Stockholm in 2008,
but we thought it would have been very unwise to take her to this big show so soon after she recovered from her illness.

It was a shame not to be there for this big event, but we enjoyed being able to follow all the finals

directly on Internet.

Affenpinschers are indeed putting themselves on the map these days!

The Dutch bred male Ch Banana Joe v. Tani Kazari winning BIS-2 at the World Show,

the male in Sweden from the same kennel, Pizzirico v. Tani Kazari, winning BIS-5 at the Swedish KC show in Borås

in the beginning of July and again BIS-5 at the Swedish KC show in Piteå up north in Sweden this past weekend,

at the same time as our Frejya was winning BIS-3 in Alfta.

*But for all this Affenpinscher enthusiasm we mustn't forget to brag about a couple of Airescot Whippets.
At the All Breeds Show in Alfta Ch Airescot Broadway (Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman ex. All Satin Swedish Love Affair)

was BOB. His proud owner is Elisabeth Magnusson Flygar, Sweden.
And Airescot Scented Silver (Multi Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion)

now 9 years old, was BIS-2 Veteran. She is owner handled and so well taken care of by Jeannette Lindblad, Sweden.

June 20

Instead of attending the three Swedish KC International Shows in Jönköping this long weekend
we had for a change chosen to stay at home and enjoy our Whippet puppies.

*But at the Saturday show the Airescot Affenpinschers were well represented by the young Airescot Rainman,
winning the dog CC and BOB from Junior class, but too young to receive his first CACIB.

"Isak" is by GB Ch Uncle Urkle At Cransbere ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot.

His proud owner  is Madeleine Edvardsson Samuelsson, Sweden.

The entry of 16 Affenpinschers was judged by Dayna Johnston, Australia.

*When that was going on in Jönköping we had a peaceful day at home

enjoying a visit by the breeder and co-owners of Allettes Figaro.

They were here to admire Figaro's first progeny, i.e. his litter ex. our Whippet bitch Airescot May Melody.

June 17

*Three busy weeks since last Update, during which we, among other things, have been driving to and from England
to give our Ch Winterkloud Frejya a couple of chances to gain a third CC for her British title.

And at Southern Counties All Breeds Championship Show she won not only the bitch CC, but she was also BOB
and can now add another prestigious title to her previous ones!!!

BOS to Frejya, winning his first CC in England, was the new import from Canada Am/Can Ch Hilanne's Shoot For The Moon.

Affenpinschers were judged by English breed specialist Delia Shepherd.

*Back home again we are now thoroughly enjoying our Whippet litter by Allettes Figaro ex. Airescot May Melody.

Today they have been celebrating their 5-weeks-birthday in the sun
and were pictured by Carl-Emil with their proud mother.

May 15

Again more than a month since last Update, in spite of the many good news and one piece of less good news to report about.

Apart from lots of translation work I have been very much involved in the revival of the Swedish Affenpinscher Club,

which has been inactive for a year and very much missed by Sweden's Affenpinscher owners.

The Club's new website is not yet complete but can be seen at www.affenpinscher.se

*The best news from kennel Airescot is the birth of our first Whippet litter for two years.

May 13 Melly, Airescot May Melody, delivered her litter by Allettes Figaro.
Four boys and two girls, all white with brindle markings and very even in size and shape.

One or two of the boys might still be for sale.

*The less good piece of news is that neither Goody nor Madicken are pregnant,
so there will be no Airescot Affen puppies for some time now.

Both Goody and Madicken are as healthy and happy as ever,
hopefully ready to give it another chance at their next seasons.

*One of the good pieces of news comes from Australia, where Ch Airescot Peer Gynt
has now added a 7th All Breeds Best In Show to his six earlier, and his 3rd Reserve All Breeds Best In Show.

*At the Swedish KC National show at Larv May 8th Int Ch Winterkloud Frejya was BOB,

Peer Gynt's Australian bred daughter Strongfort Koala won her second CC from Junior Class
and Frejya's daughter Airescot Summer Temptation, "Melissa", by GB Ch Linsgift Hairy Potter was Best Affen Puppy.

Breed judge was Anita Whitmarsh.

*At Lena Niklasson's kennel Manowar her Affen bitch Airescot Christmas Eve gave birth

to three boys and two girls April 24th. The proud sire is Airescot Good Fellow.

April 12

More good news!

Today a blood sample from Goody Goody shows that she's also pregnant!

Now it remains to be seen if these two Airescot bitches,

born the same day and bred the same day also will be having their litters the same day.

April 9

Some good news!

 Airescot May Melody is found pregnant, bred to Allettes Figaro.
This will be our first Whippet litter for two years, and maybe our last.

It's very special for us that almost all of our imports during our more than 20 years with Whippets

can be found behind these puppies. The litter is expected to be born medio May.

April 5

The Swedish KC International Easter Show was a great day for a son and a daughter of Ch Airescot Peer Gynt,

who was exported to Australia by the end of 2008 after having sired his first and only litter in Sweden.

His young son Airescot Merry Christmas ex. Ch Winterkloud Frejya won his second CC, his first possible CACIB, and BOS.

His proud owners are Christer Ivarsson and Peter Hellholm, kennel Party-Line's.

Second best dog was Peer Gynt's sire Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, making one of his rare appearances.

Peer Gynt's daughter, our Strongfort Koala ex. Australian Grand Champion Strongfort Der Die Das

made a strong show debut by winning the bitch CC from Junior Class. She was also third Best Bitch, only beaten by two champions.

She was bred, of course, by Peer Gynt's owner Gish Lesh, kennel Strongfort, Australia.

19 Affenpinschers were entered under judge Ulf Bråthen, Denmark. His BOB-winner was Ch Velvet Dandy's Upsy Daisy.

March 28

*As promised in the Update of March 18 here is now some ínformation concerning the two litters we hope for medio May.
The two bitches mated on the same day, March 11, a Whippet and an Affenpinscher,
were also born on the same day, May 29th, 2008.

*From South Africa we just received good news from two All Breeds Shows this weekend.
We have good reason to be proud of the two Whippets we have sent to Rosemarey Smith, Smithvale kennels.

Ch Airescot Emerald Expression, "Cassidy" (Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Emily Gray),

 now 10 years old, today became the sire of his 12th champion, a bitch which was also BOB and #3 in the Hound Group.

Whippet judge Saturday was Ms Bev Watt from Australia.

The young male Airescot Sunday Sunrise of Smithvale, "Merit", (Ch Airescot Broadway ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All)

is the sire of a very sucessful litter down there ex. the top-winning daugter of Cassidy's, Ch Corandy Jadore of Smithvale.

Their son Smithvale Simply Splendid, "Gucci", was remarkably successful as a youngster during 2009.

Now he has reached the qualifying age of 18 months, at which another CC would give him his champion title.
He gained it at his first try, and "Merit" has thus sired his first champion

"Gucci"'s litter sister Smithvale Simply Charisma was shown for the second time and gained her second CC.

Today, Sunday, Whippets were judged by Mr Tousel from Canada.

March 22

Apart from being the owner of "Pepi", Airescot Good Sense, Hermine Keller is a sculptress.

Thanks to her, "Pepi" is now exhibited for the first time, in his very special way.
He can be admired at Edsvik Konsthall VÄST in Sollentuna outside Stockholm until April 11.

He's already the favourite of many visitors at the gallery.

March 21

Just a quick word to say that Ch Airescot Peer Gynt yesterday won his 7th All Breeds Best In Show in Australia.

His owner Gish Lesh phoned me with the good news. It's still very hot down there,
but they are now hoping for a cooler Spring period, which will suit Peer Gynt very much better than +40 Celsius!

March 18

Like so many others visiting Crufts this year I managed to catch a bug, which sent me home really sick.

But as long as I were at the show it was, as always, very enjoyable.

For me the greatest joy of all was to handle Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal to Best Veteran Dog of the 12 entered in this class.
Rascal's owner June Minns has just had a knee operation and had asked me to handle him for her.
Rascal and I were both as happy as ever to meet again, and he was most co-operative in the ring.
In a couple of weeks he'll be celebrating his 10th birthday. He was in a remarkably good condition,
a great credit to his owner, indeed!

Pauline Oliver kindly sent me the picture below, taken when Rascal seems to look with some surprise on his First Prize card,

which I had just received and was holding in my hand.

We were, of course, again happy to see so many of Rascal's offspring doing well in the rings.

The Bitch CC winner was his granddaughter Ch Huntinghill Jazzalicious JW, about which I have bragged in earlier Updates.

The 220 entered dogs were judged by Terry Nethercott, the 224 entered bitches were judged by Mrs. M. Rigby.

Best male was Ch Nut Chip of Nevedith JW, finally chosen for BOB by the Referee and Group judge Liz Cartledge.

*More good news from Crufts was that Winterkloud Liberty, dam of our Ch Winterkloud Hector,

won the Bitch CC in Affenpinschers, judged by Toni Teasdale, Tonsarne.

Talking about Affens we must also brag about the fact that one of our Affens has been the breed's top winner in Sweden
since "Ross", Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, entered our lives four years ago.  He was the top winner here in 2006 and 2007.

In 2008 the top winner was Ch Winterkloud Frejya and in 2009 the turn came to Ch Winterkloud Hector.

During 2009 the Swedish Affenpinscher Club has been dormant, so Hector's win was according to

the Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Club's points table.

*In my next Update I'll give details, pedigrees and pictures of two very exciting breedings, which thanks to helpful people

could take place at home, when I was at Crufts.

May 29th 2008 two Airescot litters happened to be born on the same day, a litter of Whippets and a litter of Affenpinschers.

From the Whippet litter I kept A. May Melody in co-ownership with Carl-Emil and his mother Ingrid Nettelman

and from the Affen litter I kept Airescot Goody Goody. Amazingly  enough these two bitches were now bred on the same day,

March 1

Since two weeks safely back from a most enjoyable stay in New York for the Westminster show days,

seeing many great dogs and meeting with many great friends

I have felt overwhelmed by work and by what seems to be a neverending winter.

We have just managed to get all the heavy snow down from our roofs

when it starts snowing again - my normally quite nice garden now looks like a moon landscape,

where the Affens have tunnels to run through and mountains to climb. They enjoy it, but I don't.

On the other hand - we shouldn't complain, when so many places in the world are much worse off than we are.

*We are still very pleased with Micki's puppies by Hector.

*We must also let you know about a lovely Whippet litter born in Hungary at kennel Flashpoint Inferno.

On Christmas Eve their bitch Multi Group Winner Ch Airescot Miracle Fusion

(Sporting Fields B&W Airescot ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All)
gave birth to 6 boys and 2 girls as a result of her long trip to England to be bred to Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal.

February 11

Yesterday we were supposed to fly to New York for Westminster, but all flights to the US east coast were cancelled
due to the heavy snow fall and strong winds. So we went back home and took some snapshots of Micki and her puppies.

*Next week Micki's puppies by Hector will be four weeks old
and then we hope to produce some new pictures of them.

He and his Miniature Schnauzer playmate Bella were allowed to join their owners Hermine Keller and Stig Edlund

 to attend a Catholic Mass in Norrtälje, where both dogs were solemnly blessed.

As you can see"Pepi" was appropriately dressed for the purpose and kindly pictured by Anja Jansson.

January 15

I don't think pictures of new born puppies are very interesting,
but as some of you seem to doubt their existence you can see "4 day pictures"

of Micki's puppies by Hector at Affenpinscher/Breeding.

January 13

*Well, the new year has started very cold and snowy not only in Sweden, I gather.

For me it meant among other things that I cancelled my traditional trip to Gothenburg,
where the new year always starts with two big All Breed Shows.

Last year I was there as a judge, this year I had hoped to be showing again,
but for once I was sensible enough to listen to the discouraging weather reports
and decided to stay at home with myself and the Affenpinschers I had entered.

*On a happier note: late in the evening of January 11th
"Micki", Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot, gave birth to her third litter,
this time by Ch Winterkloud Hector.
She followed the pattern of her previous litters by having a quick and easy whelping
and producing two boys and two girls, very even in size and so far looking very healthy.

The puppies in her previous litter were named after the heavy rain falling over us when they were born.

To keep following Micki's pattern these puppies will be called
Airescot Snow Racer, Snow Scooter, Snow Crystal and Snow Flake.

2009

December 31

Another successful year in our Airescot dog world is behind us.

During 2009 we had two Affenpinscher litters. Both dams were mated in England,
by father and son. "Micki", Territype I'm Jane Airescot, had two males and two bitches

by Ch Uncle Urkle at Cransbere. His son Ch Linsgift Hairy Potter,
mated Ch Winterkloud Frejya, when she was staying with her breeder in England.
Frejya also had two males and two bitches.

During her stay in England Frejya managed to win two CC's, several res. CC's
and a Best Bitch placement at a a Championship show where there were no CC's for Affenpinschers.

In Sweden our Ch Hector kept the Winterkloud flag flying by many times winning BOB
and twice BIS #2 at Schnauzer-Pinscher Club specialties.

By the end of the year both Frejya and Hector were awarded their missing CACIBs

qualifying them for their International titles.

They managed to win a total of 12 CACIB's each.

From Australia we keep having good news about Ch Airescot Peer Gynt,
who has now won a record number for an Affenpinscher of six All Breeds Best In Show down under.

He has also sired a litter ex. his Australian owner's grand champion Strongfort Der Die Das,

from which two bitehes have been imported to Sweden:
Strongfort Koala has stayed with the Airescots, S. Kui has gone to the Oceanwilds in Norway.

None of our homebred Affenpinschers have so far reached the eligible age of two years
to receive their champion titles, but during next year we expect some of them to win their crowns,

and we look forward to showing our new youngsters.

We also hope for a couple of Affenpinscher litters during 2010, and possibly another Whippet litter.

It was a nice surprise to find that Airescot was #5 on the top winning list of 29 Whippet breeders in Sweden 2009.

This is entirely thanks to devoted owners of Airescot Whippets, many of these dogs now Veterans.

Today we received two pictures from the Stockholm show reported on in yesterday's Update,

December 14

This year's final International KC show in Sweden took place in Stockholm 12-13 December.

*Sunday 16 Affenpinschers were entered under Nina Karlsdotter, who found her BOB

in our now Int & Nord Ch Winterkloud Hector. BOS to him was Int Ch Winterkloud Frejya.
A picture of her daughter Airescot Summer Temptation, now almost 4 months old, can be seen on Frejya's page.

Frejya's son Airescot Merry Christmas "Tarzan", by Ch Airescot Peer Gynt, made a successful debut in Junior class.

He was awarded the dog CC and was beaten only by Hector.

His owners are Christer Ivarsson and Peter Hellholm, Party-Line's Poodles and Kerry Blue Terriers, Sweden.

Tarzan was expertly handled by Christer. We look forward to seeing more of them in the rings next year.

*We were also very proud of our Whippet "grandson" Ch Courtborne Ramazotti

by Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Paper Moon's Parisian Mamsell,
bred and owned by Rita, Steinar and Kristin Hoff, Norway.

He comes from Rascal's very first litter and is now almost nine years old.

Pauline Oliver, Spyanfly Whippets, judged the breed and Ramazotti was not only her
choice for Best Veteran but he was also her second best dog.

In the afternoon finals Frank Kane made Ramazotti Best Veteran In Show All Breeds.

Congratulations to his breeders and owners and to his handler Jörgen Kristensen.

*During the first half of 2010 we are hoping for two Affenpinscher litters
and possibly also a litter of Whippets.

November 15

By mistake I wrote in the Update below that Airescot May Melody has won her first CC in Norway.

Of course, it was A. May Memory, owned and handled by Pia Madshus in Norway.

This has now been corrected.

I also just received a mail from Edurne Legaretta in Spain,
who owns a litter sister of May Melody and May Memory, May Masquerade.

She won BOB with CAC and CACIB at the XLIII International All Breed Show in Bilbao
last weekend, judged by John Wauben from the Netherlands.

At a Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty yesterday Airescot Dark Magician was placed #4 og the 36 Whippet males

judged by Sharon Sakson, Paris Whippets, USA.

"Switcher" is also ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All, but sired by Sporting Fields B&W Airescot.

He's owned and handled by Pernilla Åhs.

At the same show Valenta's Virginia was Best Bitch with CC from Junior Class.

The 51 bitches were also judged by Sharon Sakson.
Vanessa is a granddaughter of Airescot Wintertale and Airescot Olympic Fest
through her dam Allettes Vanessa and is bred and owned by Sara and Helena Munthers, Sweden.
Virginia is sired by Ch Wolf Tone Viking.

November 11

Almost a month ago since last Update!

    Yes, it has been quite a hectic time with rearing puppies, translation work and a couple of shows,

but still no good excuse for not updating.

From England we have good news of Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal's grand children still going strong
and being a great credit to their grandfather.

From Australia we hear that Ch Airescot Peer Gynt has won his 6th All Breed Best In Show.

From Norway we hear that the young Whippet bitch Airescot  May Memory has won her first CC.

She is by Ch Wolf Tone Viking ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All.

At the Swedish KC International All Breed Show in Växjö
our Winterkloud Champions Frejya and Hector were BOB and BOS resp.

The Affenpinschers were judged by Joo Shepers, the Netherlands.

At the Danish KC two International All Breed Shows in Herning
Hector and Frejya both won their Danish titles, Frejya won her 13th and qualifying CACIB

for her International title. Hector was BOB both days. He had already been awarded his qualifying CACIB.
Day one Affenpinschers were judged by Zeljka Fon Zidar, Slovenia.

Day two they were judged by her husband Miroslav Zidar.

Frejya's puppies by Ch Linsgift Hairy Potter are now 11 weeks old.

At the English Affenpinscher Club's Championship Breed Specialty

Hairy Potter won the Dog CC and was Res. Best In Show.

He's by Ch Uncle Urkle at Cransbere ex. Linsgift Bedellus Maudy Merrier.
Best In Show was the bitch Avantgarde Mistress Moonshine, winning her second CC.

She is by Roxilyn Just So for Rosehayes ex. A. Mehitabelle, and is thus a half sister to our "Madicken",
Avantgarde Moonshine Madness Madam, as they are sired by the same dog.

We are very proud to now have stock so closely related to all these top winning Affenpinschers.

Breed specialist Carole Mumby, kennel Carmichan, judged the entry of 102 Affenpinschers.

We haven't been very good at taking photos lately, but head pictures of Frejya's puppies at 9 weeks

*Back home again from a most enjoyabe and inspiring stay in the US visiting with friends and attending five dog shows:

the three All Breed Shows preceding the Montgomery County show, where some 2 000 Terriers were entered,
and I even managed to squeeze in the Greyhound National Specialty.

*In February this year I entered my two Winterkloud Affenpinschers to the World Show in Bratislava,
by then not having planned that Frejya was going to have a litter. Her puppies are now only six weeks,
so our trip to Bratislava was cancelled.

*But we must proudly brag about the World Show success for the Norwich Terriers,
where we are deeply involved with the winners. BOB and World Winner 2009 was Nan Salminen's homebred
Ch Porrigito Polkagris by Ch Airescot James Joyce ex. Ch Porrigito Pyttsan.
BOS and World Winner 2009 was Lene Weum's Ch Airescot Ada Lovelace,
just like James Joyce a daughter of the dog we leased from Canada, Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only.
Ada Lovelace is ex. our Canadian import Ch Fairewood Felicitations.

Junior WW and Best Junior was Lene Weum's homebred Lotcheck Festen Har Börjat,

a daughter of Ada Lovelace by Ch Flatmoens Barney Jr.

Breed judge was Laurent Pichard, Switzerland. Congratulations to Nan Salminen and Lene Weum!!!

Lots of exciting Affenpinscher happenings to report on.

*A month ago two bitch puppies arrived from Australia, bred by Gish Lesh, the owner of Ch Airescot Peer Gynt.

Strongfort Koala and Strongfort Kui are by Peer Gynt ex. Gish's top winnng bitch Grand Ch Strongfort Der Die Das.
They were born May 12th and arrived in Sweden together August 11th.

One of them was going on to kennel Oceanwild in Norway, but it has been very difficult to choose between them.
The choice has now finally been made: Koala is staying at Airescot and Kui has just gone to Norway.
Alfred and Rita were here to pick her up a couple of days ago.

*Finally we have forgotten to report from the Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Club Specialty in Höganäs,
September 12, where our bitch Airescot Goody Goody, now 15 months old and first time out in Intermediate class,

won her first CC and BOS in strong competition. The breed was judged by Anna Törnlöv, Sweden.
BOB was the import from the Netherlands Pizzirico v. Tani Kazari, first time out in Sweden

and winning the dog CC from Open class. He's co-owned by Veronica Lange and Mhairi Brown, kennel Orlock.

September 7

Another successful weekend for the Airescots to report on.

*At the Swedish KC International All Breed Show at Högbo 12 Affenpinschers were entered

under judge Dagmar Laura Klein, Rumania.

She found her BOB-winner in our Ch Winterkloud Hector, who thus won the qualifying CACIB
for his International Champion title. This was his 8th CACIB, of which one was gained in Latvia and one in Norway,
The required year between the first awarded CACIB and the qualifying one had just been passed. 

He was awarded his first CACIB at the required age of 15 months just over a year ago.

BOS to him was again Velvet Dandy's Upsy Daisy.

*At the same International Show Ch Airescot Broadway "Spike" (Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman ex. Allsatin Swedish Love Affair) 

was BOS Whippet beaten for BOB by the bitch Ch Adagio Captured Sunshine.

The breed was judged by Gerard Jipping, the Netherlands.

The following day, at a Swedish Sighthound Specialty also held at Högbo, Barbara Smith, USA, judged the Whippets
and gave the bitch CC to Airescot Royal Romance "Tracy" (Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion).
which qualified her for her Swedish champion title.

She was also Second Best Bitch, only beaten by Ch Burnt Sienna Midsummer Breeze, who was BOB and later Best In Show.

Both "Spike" and "Tracy" are owned by Allettes kennel and were handled by Allette's daughters Elisabeth and Marie resp.

*Finally at the Swedish KC All Breed National Show on the island Öland

Some good news from last weekend.

*At Vallentuna outside Stockholm the Stockholm KC held its biennial All Breeds Show in memory

of Ulla Segerström and Bertil Sted-Gren.

10 Affenpinschers were entered under judge Svante Frisk, Sweden,
who found his BOB-winner in our Ch Winterkloud Hector.

Airescot Christmas Gift, owned and handled by Chatrin Lundberg won the CC from Intermediate and was #2 Best Dog.
BOS, wininng another CC from Intermediate, was again Velvet Dandy's Upsy Daisy.
with Hector's daughter, our Airescot Goody Goody, as second Best Bitch from Junior class.

*At the Welsh Kennel Club All Breeds show in England GB US Ch Uncle Urkle at Cransbere was BOB Affenpinscher,
judged by Val Kemeny, and finished the day as #2 in the Toy group, judged by Ferelith Somerfield.
A great win for the breed, and we are especially pleased as we now have a litter by this dog

ex. "Micki" and another litter by his son, Ch Linsgift Hairy Potter ex. Frejya.

*Whippet Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal is now the sire of yet another GB champion. Also at the Welsh KC Show

Osterfen Diamond at Selinko ex. Ch Osterfen Amber Nymph won his third CC and his title.
Rascal's granddaughter GB Ch Huntinghill Jazzalicious JW was awarded the res. Bitch CC.
Breed judge was Ms A. Defaye.

*From South Africa Rosemary Smith has sent us a most impressive list of all the wins

her now one year old Smithvale Simply Splendid, "Gucci", has achieved as a puppy,
among them 3 All Breed Best Puppy In Show, 8 CC's and 2 Res. CC's.

He is a son of Airescot Sunday Sunrise, "Merit" (Ch Airescot Broadway x Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All)

ex. Ch Multi BIS-winner Corandy Jadore of Smithvale, a daughter of Ch Airescot Emerald Expression, "Cassidy",

(Multi Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Emily Gray).

Best of all to know, though, is that Cassidy and Merit are both much loved house dogs with Rosemary and her husband.

August 25

This morning Frejya gave birth to her litter by GB Ch Linsgift Hairy Potter, two boys and two girls.
They were born a few days earlier than expected but mother and puppies are thriving after an easy whelping.

August 12

*After a couple of successful months in England with her breeder Sarah McGill our Ch Winterkloud Frejya is back home in Sweden
since a week, very pregnant after having been bred in England to the young GB Ch Linsgift Hairy Potter

(US GB Ch Uncle Urkle at Cransbere ex. Linsgift Bedellus Maudy Merrier).

Pedigree and pictures will soon be published on Frejya's page and on Affens/Breeding.
The litter is expected by the end of August.

*Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal and his progeny have done well lately, in England as well as in Sweden and Norway.

Rascal himself was again BOB Veteran dog at the prestigious Hound Show.

At the Swedish KC International All Breeds Show at Svenstavik Rascal's son Ch Courtbourne Ramazotti, now 8 years old,

won Best In Show. A few weeks earlier he was Best In Show at a Norwegian Sighthound Specialty in Trondheim
and the following day he was BIS Veteran at the Norwegian KC International All Breeds show in Trondheim.

At the Swedish KC International Show in Ronneby last weekend our Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,
now co-owned with Ingrid Nettelman and handled by her son Carl-Emil. was BOB and #5 in the Sighthound Group.

Finally, at Bournemouth Championship Show the same weekend Rascal's grand daughter Ch Huntinghill Jazzalicious JW won another BOB.

In connection with the Swedish Sighthound "Skokloster Summer Show" last weekend
I had been invited to judge the Swedish Deerhound Club Inofficial Breed show,

which turned out to be one of my most memorable judging appointments ever.

I started my long life with Deerhounds 40 years ago and this breed is still closest to my heart,
even though I haven't had a Deerhound around me for some years now.

I have had the opportunity and pleasure to judge Deerhound Specialites not only in Sweden and Norway
but also in England, in the Netherlands, in France, in Australia and in the United States.

Of all these appointments and all my other judging appointments all over the world

this year's Breed Specialty in Sweden stands out as my happiest and most memorable one.

I had a record entry of 70 Deerhounds, a quite overwhelming number
considering that the Deerhound entry at most shows in Sweden today is just a handfull.

There was only one puppy among them, but there were many most promising youngsters,

which make the breed's future look bright.

There were ten Deerhounds older than 7 years, which is a sign of how well these dogs are taken care of.

Some of us Deerhound fans founded the Swedish Deerhound Club in 1973, the first Breed show was held in 1974
and has since then taken place every year in connection with the Sighthound Summer Show.

I was pleased to find that in 2009 the classification is still the same as it has always been,
i.e. that the dogs are entered only according to their age, not their earlier merits.

In the final competition the five best males meet the five best bitches,
from which the judge is supposed to place the five best, males or bitches.

The very young ones still need to settle down between their legs, but among the rest, especially among the bitches,
it was a very difficult task to choose only the five best.

In my final BIS-lineup I had my four best bitches followed by my best male as BIS-5.

It was very special for me to find afterwards that most of my winners, in fact a majority of the entry,
had Deerhounds I once imported from England and the Netherlands and their Airescot bred progeny

behind them in the second or third generation, or even further back.

Finally I must congratulate the Swedish Deerhound Club to an excellenty arranged show
and thank all the exhibitors and the enthusiastic audience around the ring for making this day such a happy and successful event.

There are probably very few Deerhound breeders/owners who look into my website nowadays,
but this report might be of interest also to those of you who are not connected to the breed.

At the Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Club Specialty in Borås Airescot Happy New (Ch Airescot Peer Gynt x Ch Winterkloud Frejya)

made her show debut at 6½ months winning BOB Puppy and BIS-4 Puppy.

Ch Winterkloud Hector was BOB and BIS-2. Breed judge: Jahn Stääv, Sweden. BIS-judge: Soile Bister, Finland.

At the Swedish KC All Breeds Show, also in Borås, Pernilla Åhs' whippet Airescot Dark Magician

(Sportingfields B&W Airescot ex. Ch Colooney Winner Takes It All) was awarded the Dog CC

and was #2 Best Dog. Her veteran Ch Airescot Silver Sensation (Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion)

was #5 Best Dog. Breed judge was Ursula Langer, Germany.

Three Counties Championship Show in England was most successful for Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal's progeny.

The breed was judged by Lucinda-Aldrich Blake (Astrophel Whippets) and her choice for BOB was
Rascal's son Juneric Midnight Mischief ex. Ch Oakbark Holly.
Winner of the Bitch CC and BOS was Rascal's granddaughter Ch Huntinghill Jazzalicious JW

and Rascal's daughter Ch Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina JW was awarded the Res. Bitch CC.

June 16

Yesterday, at Three Counties Championship Show in England, Ch Winterkloud Frejya won her second Res. CC,
this time beaten for Best Bitch by Rosara Rock Star At Ingerdorm, judged by Mrs. Sonya Saxby.
BOB, winning his third and qualifying CC, was the young male Linsgift Hairy Potter,
by Ch Uncle Urkle at Cransbere, the sire of our newborn puppies.
Best Puppy at this show was Winterkloud Rockefeller, also a son of Uncle Urkle
ex. Winterkloud Liberty, older full sister of Frejya and the dam of our Ch Winterkloud Hector.
Congratulations to Linda and Sarah McGill to another successful day.

Sunday, June 14, "Micki", Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot, gave birth to her litter by Ch Uncle Urkle at Cransbere

In just over one hour the four puppies were born, two males and two bitches.

Saturday, June 13, at the Swedish KC All Breeds show in Avesta 8 Affens were entered and shown under judge Ove Germundsson, Sweden.

Our Ch Winterkloud Hector was BOB, and the BOS-winner was again Velvet Dandy's Upsy Daisy.
They are pictured below by Anna Magnusson for Velvet Dandy's. Hector did not enjoy moving in the wet grass in pouring rain

in the finals, but in spite of this he was shortlisted by the group judge Claudio De Giuliani, Italy.

June 10

Some good news about Airescot Affenpinschers worldwide.

In Australia Ch Airescot Peer Gynt has just won his 4th All Breeds Best In Show.
He is also the sire of two litters down under, one of them ex. Grand Champion Strongfort Der Die Das.
She had two dogs and three bitches, one of which will hopefully come to us in Sweden.

In America Airescot Christmas Carol has settled in nicely with the Pramada Affenpinschers.
A month ago she gave birth to one boy and two girls by our Winterkloud Hector, to whom she was bred a few weeks
before leaving us for the US with Pam and Maggie Peat. They were here to visit us and it was suddenly decided

that Carol was to fly away with them in the cabin.

In Norway Hector won the CC and CACIB, his 6th, at the Norwegian KC International show in Drammen

last weekend. Thus he can now add the Norwegian champion title to his Swedish one.

Marja Talvitie, Finland, judged the breed.

In England Winterkloud Frejya won the reserve CC at Southern Counties Championship show,
this time beaten for Best Bitch by Carmichan Jazz Meena JW. The judge was Jessica Gruninger, Darkle Affenpinschers.
From Post Graduate Linsgift Hairy Potter won his second CC and BOB.
He is sired by "Gus", Ch Uncle Urkle at Cransbere, the sire of the litter which we hope

that our bitch Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot will give birth to this weekend.

From Delia Shepherd, Avantgarde Affenpinschers, we just received a picture she took at WELKS a month ago of Frejya and Gus,
the two CC winners at that show. In the breed ring Sarah McGill handled them both in their classes,
but for this picture Karen Edwards kindly helped her with Frejya.

May 25

Another successful weekend for our two Winterkloud Affenpinschers.

In England at the All Breeds Championship show at Bath there were no CC's on offer for Affenpinschers,

but Liz Stannard all the same had a very good entry of 34 Affens.

We were delighted that  Ch Winterkloud Frejya again was Best Bitch and BOS, this time to Kilbarchan's Master Copy JW.

In Sweden at a Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Club's Specialty at Österbybruk outside Stockholm

Ch Winterkloud Hector was BOB, judged by Bo Wiberg, Sweden
and BIS-2 in the finals, judged by Gunnel Adlercreutz, Finland.

BIS-winner was Anne and Jannica Wallin's young black miniature Schnauzer JWW-08 Fixus Hole in One.

Some good Affenpinscher and Whippet news!

Yesterday Winterkloud Frejya won her second CC in England, again with BOS and again handled by her breeder, Sarah McGill.
This was at the National Dog Show in Birmingham. BOB was the res. CC winner at WELKS Linsgift Hairy Potter.
Res. Dog CC was Ch Kilbarchan's Master Copy JW, res Bitch CC was again Ch Mimosa Of Riogaioch JW.

The entry of 57 was judged by John Turner.

Also yesterday the young Affen bitch Oceanwild Black Widow won the Group and was BIS 3
at the Norwegian KC All Breeds Ínternational show in Kristiansand.

She is a granddaughter of our "Ross", Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, through his daughter Terrietype I'm a Jungle Virus.
Her sire is Ch Imrun's Boris Jeltsin. Proud breeders and owners are Rita Gauthun and Alfred Hove, ´Norway.

Breed and group judge was Åke Cronander, Sweden.  BIS-judge was Ove Germundsson, Sweden.

A week ago Ch Airescot Peer Gynt won his third All Breeds Best in Show in Australia.

Two good weekends for UllaBritta and Anna Ideryd's Whippet bitch Airescot Splendid Sunday

(Ch Airescot Broadway ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All).

April 26 she qualified for her Finnish Champion title,,judged by Sharon Sakson, Paris Whippets, USA,

and May 3 she gained her Norwegian title, judged by Nils Molin, Sweden.

At that show she was also BIS-2, judged by Arne Foss, Paper Moon Whippets, Norway, and was pictured as below.

May 3

Just safely back home from a 12 days trip by car over the continent to bring one Affen bitch to England and bring one back to Sweden.
My children and caring friends thought I was crazy to do all this driving on my own, and I suppose I was,
but most of it was very enjoyable without any near-accidents. I only had some difficulties to find the right way in the English roundabouts,
especially when two of them were connected to each other, and driving the Motorway through Germany is very slow
due to all the roadworks.

The timing couldn't have been more fortunate as "Micki", our Affen bitch Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot, who has been staying
with my ex husband Petter in England, managed to come in season just in time to be mated so that I could bring her back with me
after having delivered Ch Winterkloud Frejya to her breeder Sarah McGill, who will be showing her in England for a couple of months.

Her first show was only a few days after her arrival to Sarah, WELKS All Breeds Championship show.

Hiding in the background this was the first time I have seen Frejya from ringside, as I've always handled her myself.
It was a joy to see her showing as happily as ever, and I was, of course, delighted that she was awarded the Bitch CC and BOS.
BOB was GB&Am Ch Uncle Urkle at Cransbere, "Gus", and the res. CC winner was a son of his, Linsgift Hairy Potter.

Gus is owned by Sarah and her mother Linda, but was also handled by Sarah.

55 Affenpinschers were entered under Siv Jernhake, Sweden.

The Toy Group was judged by Liz Cartledge, where "Gus" was pulled out but unplaced.

Hounds were judged the previous day. As June Minns, the owner of Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal, had just broken her hip
and had to stay at home with her new one, she had asked me to handle Rascal. He's 9 years old now, but as there were no Veteran classes for Whippets

at this show he was entered in Open. We were both happy to be together in the ring again, and I was delighted that he was placed second,
beaten only by Ch Nut Chip of Nevedith, who was rewarded the res CC. The Dog CC and BOB went to Courthill Coeur de Lyon from Junior class.

211 Whippets were entered under judge Johnstone McCleod, Peperone Whippets.

During the weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to stay with my old friend Elisabeth Matell in her lovely house in Malvern just around the corner

from Three Counties Show ground, where WELKS is also held. After a quick Monday visit with Elisabeth to a formidable Garden Center in Burford

  Micki and I started our long journey back to Sweden. Micki wasn't bred as originally planned, though.

Finally in this Update I have news about Airescot Peer Gynt in Australia.
At the Sydney Royal show he was BOB and pulled out in the group, judged by Ove Germundsson, Sweden.

At that show he also gained his qualifying points for his title, so he is now an Australian Champion.

And yesterday he won his third All Breeds Best In Show in Australia!

April 15

The Swedish KC International Easter show was our first time out this year in Sweden.

This time Affenpinschers were judged by Birgitta Hasselgren, Sweden.

Winterkloud Hector has just reached the age of two years, when another CC in Sweden
would qualify him for his Swedish title. He won his 7th CC as well as the CACIB and was BOS, so he's now a Swedish Champion.

Ch Winterkloud Frejya was BOB and in the afternoon finals she was #2 in the Group, judged by Elzbieta Chwalibog, Poland.

In the evening Frejya had been invited to the Champion of Champions Gala Match Show,
based on her merits in group competition during 2008.
For an Affenpinscher to be invited to compete with last year's top winning dogs of all breeds
was a great honour indeed. She didn't win the match, of course, but we were very proud of the way she performed.

Next week Frejya is off to England, where she's going to spend a couple of months with her breeder Sarah McGill

to try her luck in the British show rings.

March 30

More good Whippet news, this time from South Africa, where Smithvale puppies keep winning.

The advertisement above was made a month ago when "Gucci" won the Mini Grand Challenge first time out.

Now at seven months he did it again winning BEST PUPPY IN SHOW at a big all breeds show,
judged by Mrs. G Alexander, Australia.

"Gucci" is not only sired by Airescot Sunday Sunrise of Smithvale  (Ch Airescot Broadway ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All)

his dam, the Multi BIS winning Ch Corandy Jadore of Smithvale,

is sired by Ch Airescot Emerald Expression (Ch Stautesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Emily Grey).

Thus we have double reasons to be proud of "Gucci" and also of his litter sister "Gemma".

Good news from England where the Whippet Breed Council's annual Match Competition "Whippet Stars" took place
last weekend. To this competition a maximum of 60 Whippets having been awarded CC's during the previous year are invited.

If there are less than 60 such winners, res. CC winners are invited to fill up the number.

In 2008 the BIS winner at this Match show was Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal.

In 2009 the BIS winner was his granddaughter Ch Huntinghill Jazzalicious JW, "Chelsea".

owned and bred by Ann and Rachel Snelgrove, handled by Rachel.
Only just two years old "Chelsea" has already made a terrific career in the show rings

winning four CC's and a Group 1st in 2008 and the res. CC at Crufts 2009.

The Match show is always judged by one allrounder  and two breed specialists.
This year they were Frank Kane, Kathy Thomas and Claudia Ledger.

and Best Puppy, Triken Timeless Star.

We are very proud that Rascal's grand children seem to be following in his own and his children's footsteps.

*More good news from Australia. Yesterday Peer was shown again at an all breeds show up in the mountains outside Sydney
where it was only 20 degrees Celsius. Peer enjoyed the cooler weather, showed even better
and won another Best In Show! Fantastic!

*Here in Sweden we can only brag about being awarded prizes for the Top Winning Affenpinscher 2008 (Ch Winterkloud Frejya)
and for the Top Winning Swedish Bred Affenpinscher 2008 (Airescot Peer Gynt).
The prizes were given out yesterday at the Swedish Schnauzer Pinscher Club's Annual Meeting.
What we didn't know until yesterday was that Frejya was also #2 of all Schnauzer Pinschers in Sweden 2008,

only beaten by the top winning black Miniature Schnauzer Ch Fixus Hasta La Vista.

*We are also very proud that Frejya's group placings during 2008 have qualified her to be one of only four breeds
from the huge FCI group 2 to be invited to the Champion of Champions competition held in connection

with the International all breeds Easter show in Stockholm next month.

March 12

Great news from Australia, where Airescot Peer Gynt has started his show career in Sydney in high style.
At his first show March 1 he was #2 in the Toy Group.

Last weekend there were two all breeds shows. Saturday he WON the Toy Group.
Sunday was the Blacktown Kennel Club show where he again won the Toy Group and finally BEST IN SHOW!

This is the first time ever that an Affenpinscher has been awarded Best In Show at an all breeds show in Australia!

The Toy group Sunday was judged by Mr L Butler, BIS by Mrs Beryl Hession, who had judged the Toy group Saturday.

Congratulations to his owner/handler Gish Lesh.

While Peer was making us proud in Australia we were not quite so successful at Crufts,
where our happiest moment was to meet with Rascal, now 9 years old and looking as good as ever.

Many of you have been wondering if we don't have any breeding plans, for Whippets or/and for Affenpinschers.

Yes, in fact we have great plans for both breeds.

Some time in July 2009 we hope to have a litter ex. our co-owned Whippet bitch Airescot Primrose, "Peggy",

 bred to Ch Airescot Cyber Dragon, "Wille". Peggy is expected to come in season in May.

by Airescot Peer Gynt ex. Winterkloud Frejya.

both of them very full of themselves.

January 24

Beatrix, Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber, has died peacefully of old age shortly before her 14th birthday.

Above on old lady relaxing in the sun, below in her prime winning BOB at the Swedish Sighthound Club Skokloster Summer Show in 1997.

At the Whippet National Specialty in America in 1996 I fell in love with Beatrix when seeing her in the Futurity classes.
A few days later she was reserve Winners Bitch in huge competition at the same show,
but by then I had luckily already agreed with her breeder Sharon Sakson that she was to be mine.

In Sweden Beatrix was for many years one of the top winning Whippet bitches, but she was also a successful brood bitch.
During her long life she didn't have a single day of illness. Since 2003 she has just been a happy and loyal house dog.
For a couple of years now she has been surrounded by our small black clowns, who have loved her,
and her unbelievable patience with them is another proof of her wonderful temperament.

From her four litters I'll just mention her most well known and influential offspring:

By Ch Balzac Strålande Tider in 1998 Ch Airescot Buccaneer won BIS at the Skokloster Whippet Specialty in 2002

and he has had a big influence on the breed in Scandinavia mainly through his son Ch Klenod's Qhavat.
From the same litter Ch Airescot Bonnie Maid has been an important brood bitch for kennel Aaniston in Sweden.

By Ch Statuesque Extortion in 2000 the most famous offspring was Ch Airescot Gold Field.
He went to Beatrix' breeder in the US, but stayed for a couple of years at kennel Sobresalto in Italy,

where he had a wonderful show career and was frequently and most successfully used at stud.
He now appears in many pedigrees all over Europe.

In 2001 Beatrix had a litter by Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal, from which Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick
had a good show career at Airescot, but more important as a brood bitch is her sister Ch Airescot Brilliant Bargain,
who turned out to be a most successful foundation bitch for kennel Oscarberg in Norway.

From Beatrix litter by Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest in 2002 Airescot Justina Casagli went to kennel Sobresalto,

where she was awarded the Italian title "Campione Riproduttore" in 2007,
which means that she is the dam of three champions from three different litters.

Beatrix will be greatly missed and we are very proud of what she has achieved.

January 13

Very nice to be able to start the new year with some good news.

At a big puppy show in Nyköping, Sweden, Saturday January 10th
the 7 months old Whippet bitch Carmodey Gullviva was BOB, group winner and #3 Best In Show
of 557 entered puppies of all breeds. Breed, Group and BIS judge was Torbjörn Skaar, Tintavon Whippets.

"Lovis", as she is called, is by Play a While Whitstable Bay Ale ex. Airescot Primrose.

Primrose (Ch Carmodey Prima di Tutto ex. Ch Airescot Serene Silver) is co-owned by Carmodey and Airescot.

She lives with the Carmodeys and had her first litter with them in June 2008.
She might have her second litter at Airescot in 2009.

So far we can only congratulate Lena and Peter Hjalmarsson to this lovely puppy,
handled at the show by Peter and pictured below by Madeleine Eriksson.

Time to sum up the highlights of yet another year's dog activities.

WHIPPETS

As many of you will have noticed I haven't shown a single Whippet myself during 2008,
but it's a great joy to see how well the Airescots are still represented on the various Top Lists.

The most remarkable fact is that Airescot is still placed #3 among Sweden's Top Whippet Breeders,
which is only thanks to devoted owners of Whippets bred by Airescot.

MANY THANKS to all of you who have contributed to this!

I'll just mention two Veterans:

#2 Veteran Dog was Birgitta Linderoth's Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion
and #3 Veteran Bitch was Karin Lind's Airescot Refined Ruby - both by Ch Statuesque Extortion.
"Dennis" is ex. Ch Lorricbrook Monopoly. "Hera"is ex. Ch Airescot Red Redee and is a litter sister to Ch A. Ruby Rascal.

Congratulations to Birgitta and Karin!

Also I can't deny that it makes me very proud to find Airescots behind so many of today's winners.
E.g. the Top Winning Stud Dog 2008, Ch Klenod's Qhavat, bred and owned by Inger Carlsson,
is a grandson of Ch Airescot Buccaneer, and the Top Winning Brood Bitch 2008,

Ch Twyborn Swanley Gem, bred and owned by Michael Vikström,
has Ch Airescot Wedlock as grandmother on her sire's side, and Ch Airescot Fandango as grandfather on her dam's side.

From England I keep having good news - now time has come for Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal's grandchildren to prove
that Rascal is even more successful as a grandsire than he has been as a sire. At the Whippet Club of Wales Breed Specialty
in the beginning of December e.g. I have been told that 14 of the Whippets placed in various classes were grandchildren of Rascal.

And at the L.K.A. All Breeds Championship show in December his young granddaughter Ch Huntinghill Jazzalicious JW won her fourth CC
and was #2 in the Hound Group. Congratulations to her breeders/owners Ann and Rachel Snelgrove.
"Chelsea" is by Rascal's son Oakbark Moment of Impact at Willingwisp ex. Oakbark Mistique at Tormor.

Interesting to find that Mistique's granddam is Ch Oakbark Mariel, a litter sister to our Ch Oakbark Mercia,
the granddam of Rascal, through our Ch Airescot Red Redee, Rascal's dam.

But Rascal himself is still going strong having won BOB Veteran at some ten shows during 2008.
A few times he has been beaten by the beautiful bitch Ch Collooney Silver Silas, who is the dam of Rascal's second litter in England, bred in 2003,
in which litter our "Taksi", Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All, was one of the eight puppies.

Even if I have given up showing Whippets myself, I haven't entirely given up breeding them.

During 2008 we had a lovely Whippet litter of one male and seven bitches

by Ch Wolf Tone Viking ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,

and next Summer we may have a litter ex. Airescot Primrose.
She had an excellent litter for her co-owners, the Carmodeys, in May 2008.

AFFENPINSCHERS

As I so much enjoy handling my own dogs I have decided to stick to Affenpinschers,

as I can keep up with them in the ring without losing my breath.

We have had a tremendously successful third year with this delightful breed.

Our import from England, Winterkloud Frejya, was awarded her 19th and qualifying Swedish CC in the beginning of November.

December 19 she gave birth to her first litter, one male and one bitch, by Airescot Peer Gynt. She was Sweden's Top Winning Affenpinscher in 2008

and she was World Winner 2008 with BOB. Congratulations to her breeder Sarah McGill!

But Sarah should be even more pleased as our second Winterkloud import, the young Hector, finished the year as #2 on the Swedish

Affenpinscher Top List. We are almost ashamed to admit that #3 on the list is our even younger Airescot Peer Gynt, Junior World Winner 2008.

All three of them are qualified for Crufts.

The sire of Peer Gynt, Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, now co-owned by Anita Andersson, kennel Terrietype,

is Sweden's top winning Affenpinscher stud dog in 2008, but was himself shown only once,

at the Swedish Breed Club Specialty, where he won Best In Show, just as in 2007.

I must again thank my ex-husband Petter Fodstad for helping me to present the coats of my Affens in such good  shape.

As soon as Peer Gynt had done his much appreciated duty with mating Frejya he went on his long journey
to Gish Lesh, kennel Strongfort, in Australia, where he has now happily joined his new Affen mates.

In May our bitch Schnaffentangens Gimme Gimme, the dam of Peer Gynt, had her second litter

(two males, two bitches), this time by Winterkloud Hector.

December 21

The day before yesterday, December 19, Frejya without any problems gave birht to her litter by Airescot Peer Gynt.
Disappointing to all who were hoping to have a puppy from this litter, as there were only two of them, a male and a bitch.

In these days of Christmas Greeting cards they have been amply named
Airescot Merry Christmas (the boy) and Airescot Happy New Year.
They are very well taken care of by their proud mother,

and as you can see on the picture below they are fat and shiny.

The one at the bottom of the picture is the boy,

December 8

Almost a month since last Update, but not much to report on, except that we were suddenly almost buried
under more than 60 centimeters of snow, which has then smelted and is at the moment almost drowning us in water.

But now we have some good Affenpinscher news.

*Yesterday Airescot Peer Gynt was released from his 30 days in Australian quarantine,
so at last his new owner, Gish Lesh, Strongfort kennels, didn't have to leave him again as she has had to do until now
every time she has been to say hello to him. Visits to the quarantine are allowed twice a week, so Peer and Gish have already
become very good friends, but it's wonderful to know that Peer is now a "free" dog
and, of course, very happy to play around with his new Affen friends in Sydney.

Gish has been breeding Terriers for most of her life, but is now concentrating on Affenpinschers,
of which she has already bred several generations. One of her bitches is just about to become a Grand Champion,
which is very difficult in this breed as 1 000 points are required to qualify. Gish is an allrounder judge
and a good friend of Lee and Frank Pieterse, Statuesque kennels, our Whippet friends since many years.
They are now breeding top Griffons in Australia, and Lee is also the owner of a Strongfort Affenpinscher bitch.

*December 6-7 the Swedish KC's final International show 2008 took place in Stockholm,

where Airescot had its first ever breeder's group in Affenpinschers.

(Breeder's groups and Progeny groups in Scandinavia must always contain four exhibits.)
All four puppies from our Christmas litter last year were entered in Junior class, two dogs and two bitches

(by Ch Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot, a daughter of Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim.)

Winning his first CC, Best Dog and BOB was Airescot Christmas Cracker, owned by Anita Andersson, kennel Terrietype.

His litter sister A. Christmas Carol, owned by Airescot, won the Junior bitch class and was #2 best bitch.

These wins qualified both of them for Crufts 2009.

Chatrin Lundberg' s A. Christmas Gift, who won a first CC just over a month ago,

and Lena Nicklasson's A. Christmas Eve were both awarded red ribbons.

We were very proud of the critique on our group of young Airescot Affens,

dictated by the Miniature Pinscher specialist judge Göran Åkesson, Sweden:

"A lovely breeder's group, where all four exhibits show great confidence and attitude.

Good toplines, very good movement, good coats and colour, impressive overall picture. Good luck!"

*The final peace of news is that our Ch Winterkloud Frejya is very much in whelp to Airescot Peer Gynt.
Her litter is expected in about ten days.

November 9

*Good news for all friends of our young Affenpinscher Airescot Peer Gynt.
After his long journey he has arrived safely in Sydney, Australia. He will be greatly missed!

*And good news about two senior Airescot Whippets.
At the Swedish Whippet Club Unofficial Breed show yesterday Roger Wiklund, Signum Whippets,
had a lovely entry of more than 100 Whippets for his first time out in the middle of the ring.

His choice for BIS and BOS Senior were both sired by Multi Ch Statuesque Extortion.

Int Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion (ex. Ch Lorricbrook Monopoly), owner handled by Birgitta Linderoth

 and Airescot Refined Ruby (ex. Int Ch Airescot Red Redee) owner handled by Karin Lind.

*Finally good news about one of the youngest Airescot Whippets.

    At the Kongsberg Hundeklubb show in Norway for all breeds yesterday
the 5½ months old bitch Airescot May Memory, "Luna", (Int Ch Wolf Tone Viking ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All)

had a good start to her career by winning BOB Puppy of six and #2 in Group.

She is owned by Pia and Ida Madshus, Norway and was handled by mother Pia.
Judge was Zeferino Silva, Portugal. Three pictures below. BOS Puppy was Libriums Good Looking Guy.

November 2

To the Swedish KC International All Breeds Show at Växjö this weekend we had entered Winterkloud Frejya

hoping that she might win her 19th CC in Sweden, as it would be the qualifying one for her Swedish title.

 She celebrated her second birthday a month ago, so this was her first chance to qualify
and also her last show for some time, as we hope she'll have her first litter just before Christmas.

She did win the CC and is now a Swedish champion,

but she was also awarded CACIB and BOB and was placed #3 in the Group, so we were very pleased.
BOS to her was her young husband Airescot Peer Gynt, winning his 8th and last CC in this part of the world.
On Wednesday he will be off on his long journey to Australia.
Judge for the breed as well as the group was Elzbieta Chwalibóg from Poland.
Her Group winner was a Great Dane, which later won Best In Show of the more than 5 000 dogs entered.

October 17

*Winterkloud Frejya has at last come into her long awaited season and today she was successfully bred to Airescot Peer Gynt,
so we hope for a litter by medium December. For both of them it will be their first litter,
and as for Peer it will be his last in this part of the world as he is off to his new owner in Australia in the beginning of November.

We are very proud that Frejya currently is #1 on the Swedish Affenpinscher Top Winner list,
with Peer Gynt #2 and Winterkloud Hector #3.
This in spite of the fact that their great wins at the World Shows 2008 didn't add any points for them.
As there were no traditional 5 Best Dog and 5 Best Bitch placings at these two shows
it was decided by the breed club that the results should not give any points at all to the list.

*Congratulations to Airescot Christmas Gift (Ch Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot)
from an entry of 10 winning the CC and BOB  from Junior class at the Swedish KC International All Breeds show in Sundsvall October 11.
Just over 9 months old this was his first time out in official class after many wins as a puppy.
His proud owner is Chatrin Lundberg, kennel Comon, but on this occasion he was apparently handled by his photographer.

As Winterkloud Frejya has just celebrated her second birthday this would have been her first chance
to win the qualifying CC for her Swedish title. But as our judge at this show was my ex-husband Petter Fodstad
who is so much inolved with keeping our Affenpinscher coats in order, she couldn't, of course, be shown.
Nor could we let our Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim compete with his progeny group, so this time we had to stay at home.

*I suddenly realize that I haven't made any individual Updates on our Affens since June!

In a few days the puppies in our Affenpinscher Christmas litter are nine months old and will be out of Puppy class and into Junior.

September 17

From Per Undén we just received this picture of Frejya winning the group judged by Nina Karlsdotter

at the Swedish KC International All Breeds Show at Sofiero, reported on in the Update yesterday.

*Also good news from the Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty at Högbo September 6th,
where Jean-Louis Grunheid, France, judged Whippets.
Among the 33 entered males he found his Best Dog in the veteran Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion

(Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Lorricbrook Monopoly), owned by Birgitta Linderoth.
"Dennis" was also BIS-2 Veteran.

From Open class Airescot JJ (Skräddaregårdens Spicey Lion ex. Collooney Dancing Queen)

was 4th Best Dog. His proud owner is Björg Nymoen-Solberg.

September 16

Four successful shows for our Affenpinschers to report on, and one for an Airescot Whippet.
*Two of the shows took place on Gotland, the island on the east coast of Sweden, August 30 and 31.
Both were Swedish KC All Breeds Shows, one National, one International. We had entered our youngsters:

Winterkloud Hector, Avantgarde Moonshine Madness Madam ("Madicken) and the puppy Airescot Christmas Carol.
Our breed judges were Wenche Eikeseth, Norway and Thord Byström, Sweden, who also were the group judges in the afternoon.
Hector was BOB both days, winning the CC's and the Sunday CACIB.
Saturday he was placed reserve in the group, Sunday even better, #2 in the group.
BOS to him both days winning the bitch CC's was "Madicken", too young for the CACIB, but a great start to her show career.
Carol was BOB Puppy both days, not very exciting as she was the only puppy in the breed,
but Saturday she was reserve in the BIS finals competing with some 60 puppies of all breeds,
judged by Mia Sandgren, Sweden.

*The other two shows were held September 13-14  in the south of Sweden, the Swedish KC International two day All Breeds Show

in the beautiful Sofiero Castle Park and the Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Specialty a few miles from there.

To these shows we had entered Airescot Peer Gynt and Winterkloud Frejya.

Breed judge at Sofiero was the Swedish allrounder and Schnauzer-Pinscher specialist Nina Karlsdotter.

From an entry of 17 Affenpinschers she placed Frejya BOB, winning her 17th CC and her 8th CACIB.
BOS to her, winning his 6th CC and his first CACIB having just reached the eligible age of 15 months, was Peer Gynt.

Saturday afternoon Nina Karlsdotter decided to give Frejya the group,

a terrific achievement by Frejya in this huge group and her first #1 , even if she has been close to it before.

At the Schnauzer-Pinscher Specialty the following day Leni Finne from Finland was our breed judge.

Both CC's were again given to Peer Gynt and Frejya, but this time Peer was BOB and Frejya BOS.

Before rushing back to the Sunday BIS finals at Sofiero we had time to take Peer Gynt into the Specialty BIS final,
where he was BIS #3, judged by Wilfried Lohmann, Germany.

The SKK BIS final at Sofiero was judged by Jochen Eberhardt, Germany.
Frejya was unplaced, but we were very proud to be there and Frejya was much admired.

Again it's my ex-husband Petter Fodstad who has helped me keep the coats of my black clowns in such good shape.

*The final brag today concerns the Whippet Airescot Cyber Dragon, presented and pictured in the Update below.
At the Swedish Sighthound Specialty, also held in conjunction with the SKK Sofiero show,
he gained the qualifying CC for his Swedish title and was also BOB, judged by Maria Veiga, Portugal.

Congratulations to his owners Johanna and David!

August 24

*Today we just want to congratulate Johanna Roos and David Sehlberg to being awarded
the Swedish Whippet Club's much coveted Triple Prize with their Airescot Cyber Dragon, "Wille"

(Sportingfield B&W Airescot ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All)

for his merits in the show ring (two CC's), at lure coursing (one CC) and at game tracking.

They have earlier won the prize with their first Whippet, Airescot Primetime,
and we are very proud that also Airescot Jenny Lind and Airescot Red Rum belong to the small group of winners.

*From Hungary we have just received good news about Wille's litter sister, Airescot Miracle Fusion,
who is a multiple Group Winner. She even has an All Breeds Best In Show win to her credit.
Her younger half brother Airescot Sunday Sunshine (by Ch Airescot Broadway)
has won high awards as a Junior at All Breeds Shows. They are both handled by their owner Zita Bretka.

August 20

Two SKK All Breed shows held only a few miles apart, one National, in Norrköping, one International in Nyköping
 August 16 and 17 , both days in pouring rain. A shame, though, that so few Affenpinschers were entered.

Svante Frisk, Sweden, judged Saturday. Sunday our judge was Howard Ogden, England,
the well-known Griffon breeder and toy group judge.

Both days our Junior World Winner Airescot Peer Gynt won the CC and BOS, a few weeks too young for his first CACIB.

BOB both days was our World Winner Winterkloud Frejya, winning her 15th and 16th CC and 7th CACIB.
She will not be old enough to compete for her qualifying CC until the end of September,

but by then we hope that she will be in whelp to Peer Gynt. He will be off to his new owner in Australia
as soon as he has done his enjoyable duty with Frejya. Very sad to let him go, but hopefully he'll have fun and be useful downunder.
 

At the Saturday show Frejya was placed second in the huge group, judged by Marja Talivitie, Finland.

Sunday we couldn't stay for the group judging, but the BOB Puppy, 7½ months old Airescot Christmas Cracker,
and his owner Anita Andersson, Terrietype, defied the weather and stayed for the finals,

where Cracker was 5th Best Puppy In Show.

August 10

*Yesterday, at the Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty in Umeå, the Whippet male Airescot Broadway, Spike",
(US Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman ex. Allsatin Swedish Love Affair)
managed to win his required qualifying Sighthound Club CC for his Swedish title. This was his sixth Swedish CC.

The judge Marie-Christine Delabelle, Di Mahana Whippets, Belgium, placed him second Best Dog,

only beaten by the Veteran Ch Hjortronblommas Gin Lemon.

Today, at the Swedish Whippet Club Unofficial Breed Show in Umeå,
Anna-Lena Bäckvall, Balzac Whippets, placed Broadway third Best Dog.
Congratulations to owner/handler Elisabeth Magnusson and Torbjörn Flygar.

we are pleased to report that the young Affenpinscher boy Airescot Christmas Gift, "Chopper",
was not only BOB Puppy but also BIS-2 Puppy of all breeds on the day.

At the same show his sire, Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow, had reached the eligible age for his title,

The Swedish Affenpinscher Club Unofficial Breed Specialty was held last weekend, August 3,
but since then we have been busy delivering all our Whippet and Affen puppies.
Thus we have had no time for Updates, in spite of having so much to brag about.

The Affenpinscher Specialty was judged by Cindy Pettersson, Sweden.
She had an entry of 50 Affens, nine of which were puppies.

Best Puppy In Show was Anita Andersson's 7 months old Airescot Christmas Cracker
(Ch Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot).

Just like at last year's Specialty our Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim was Best In Show, this time handled by Anita Andersson.

Second Best Male and Best Swedish bred Affen was our Airescot Peer Gynt, handled by my ex-husband Petter Fodstad,
who as usual had made an excellent job with all our Affenpinscher coats.
Third Best Male was our Winterkloud Hector, handled by me, Nenne.

Just like last year our Winterkloud Frejya was Best Bitch and BOS, as usual handled by me.

No doubt quite a family affair to be proud of!

After seven weeks our "kennel-boy" and photographer Carl-Emil has left us to go back to school,

but with him and his mother Ingrid Nettelman we'll be co-owning the Whippet bitch puppy Airescot May Melody.
The Affenpinscher bitch puppy Airescot Goody Goody will stay here with us,

but the other 11 puppies have now moved to their new homes and we wish them and their owners all the best

*To start at the World Show two weeks ago we are aware of the fact that quite a family affair took place in the Norwich Terrier ring.
Three of the main winners were cousins through three Airescot litter mates.

World Winner and BOB was Ch Porrigito Polkagris sired by Ch Airescot James Joyce.
Winner of Intermediate class and dog CC was Cantab What's Your Poison, sired by Ch Airescot Jumping For Joy
and Winner of Open Class bitches was Cog-Wheel's China Girl ex. Ch Airescot Joy Bells.

These three parents are litter mates by our guest from Canada Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only ex. Airescot Such Is Life.

Congratulations to all the breeders and owners of these successful cousins!

*During four days after the World Show the Swedish Whippet Club hosted the 5th Whippet World Congress,
followed by a Breed Specialty. As we no longer have any Whippets to show, we are just very proud to find
that so many of the winners have our dogs in their pedigrees. Here is a brag about two of them:

At the Gala Match Show to which 20 top winning Whippets from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark had been invited to compete

 the three secret judges - Phoebe Booth, USA, Diane Hansen, South Africa and Noreen Harris, Australia -
ended up with Ch Courtborne Ramazotti as their final winner.

He is sired by Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal in his very first litter, born in 2001,

ex. Ch Paper Moon's Parisian Mam'sell. Ramazotti is bred and owned by Rita, Steinar and Kristin Hoff, Norway.

But that was not Ramazotti's only triumph last week.
At the Swedish Sighthound Club's "Skokloster Summer Show" he was BOB of almost 250 Whippets.
Sandra Marshall, England, chose him for Best Dog. Bitches and Best In Show was judged by Linda Jones, England,
who gave him BOB over her Best Bitch, the beautiful Ch Mac Bells Driving Miss Daisy.

As an extra bonus Ramazotti ended up BIS 4, judged by Gilberto Grandi, Italy.

*At the Whippet Club Breed Specialty dogs were judged by Claire Newcombe (Pennyworth Whippets), USA
and bitches by Mary Lowe (Nimrodel Whippets), England.

We were delighted to hear that Mary Lowe found her Best Senior Bitch in Ruby Rascal's litter sister Airescot Refined Ruby,
and that Claire Newcombe made her BIS Senior over her Best Senior Dog, Ch Hjortronblommas Gin Lemon.

Ruby Rascal and Refined Ruby are by our Australian guest Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Red Redee.
Congratulations to Refined Ruby's proud owners Karin, Britt-Marie and Torbjörn Lind.

At the Swedish KC All Breeds Show at Tvååker Airescot Cyber Dragon won his second CC and was BOS

to the BOB-winning bitch Albicans Mama Mia, a granddaughter of Airescot Ruby Rascal.
Breed judge was Matti Tuominen, Finland. "Wille" is by Sporting Fields B & W Airescot ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,

thus a grand son of Rascal. Congratulations to proud owners Johanna Roos and David Sehlberg, Sweden.

*From the Swedish KC All Breeds Show at Alfta we had the good news that the seven months old
Affenpinscher puppy Airescot Christmas Gift, "Chopper", was BIS-2 Puppy,
and his sire, Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow, won the CC and BOB.

He had just reached the age where another CC qualified him for his champion title.
"Chopper" is ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot, and he and his sire are owned by Chatrin Lundberg. Sweden.

*Finally, in this long row of brags about dogs not even owned by us, we must mention the beautiful Deerhound bitch

Ch Galerita's Lamborghini, bred and owned by Cecilia and Ylva Nordström, Sweden.

At the Swedish Sighthound Club's "Skokloster Summer Show" she won BOB, judged by Bo Bengtson, USA,
and Best In Show, judged by Gilberto Grandi, Italy.

She is by Ch Galerita's Sting Ray ex. Ch Galerita's Dik-Dik,
but behind them we find e.g. Ch Airescot Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ch Airescot Shylock,
and many times over our import from Scotland Ch Ardkinglas Xotic. This makes us feel deeply touched and involved.

A great win for the breed! Congratulations to the Nordström family!

A substanstial Update today with results from the World Dog Shows
and 5-week-pictures of our Affenpinscher and Whippet puppies.

Two wonderful days for our Affenpinschers at the CC Breed Club Show July 2 and the World Dog Show July 3.

*At the CAC Breed Club Show 41 Affenpinschers were entered under judge Bo Skalin, Sweden.

He found his dog CC winner and BOB in Winterkloud Hector from Junior Class.

Second to Hector in Junior Class was Airescot Peer Gynt and he was awarded the reserve CC.

´Winner of the bitch CC and best bitch was Winterkloud Frejya from Open Class.

In the finals Hector was BIS-2 Junior, judged by Tamas Jakkel, Hungary.

*At the World Dog Show the following day Elina Tan-Hietalahti, Finland, had an entry of 50 Affenpinschers.

Her choice for Best Junior dog was Peer Gynt and he was thus Junior World Winner.
He was also awarded the res. CC and was BOB Junior.

This time Winterkloud Hector was second to Peer Gynt in Junior Class.

 World Winner and awarded the bitch CC, CACIB and BOB was Winterkloud Frejya,

thus winning her 13th CC and 5th CACIB in Sweden.

At both shows Frejya and Hector won Best Brace in breed.

Fortunately our visitors from England Delia Shepherd (Avantgarde Affenpinschers) and Julie McEvoy,
gave me helping hands. Julie did a great job with handling Hector, as he and Peer Gynt were both in Junior Class
and Hector and Frejya again managed to win the double. Congratulations to their breeder Sarah McGill, England.

And many thanks again to my ex-husband Petter for keeping our Affenpinschers' coats in such fine shape.

Yesterday Taksi's Viking puppies celebrated being four weeks old
by for the first time getting out on the grass in the sunshine.

*At the Swedish KC All Breeds Show in Avesta, June 15,

the BOB-winner was Airescot Royal Romance (Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion).

owned by Marie Gellerstam, but on this occasion handled by mother Allette Boos.
BOS was Airescot Broadway (Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman ex. All Satin Swedish Love Affair),
owned and handled by Elisabeth Magnusson, a full sister of Marie Gellerstam, i.e. altogether a familay affair.

"Tracy", as Royal Romance is called, was also placed 2nd in the Sighthound Group.

Breed judge was Elisabet Janzon, Sweden. Group judge was Miklòs Levente, Hungary.

*At the Finnish KC All Breeds International show in Rovaniemi, June 22
Airescots were again winning the double. Breed judge was Marina Ostrovskaya, Russia.
For BOB with CC and CACIB she chose Norwegian Ch Airescot Snowstorm

(Airescot Gold Fever ex. Paper Moon's Panache), owned by Inger-Lise Lindmark, Norway, handled by Finn-Arne Haugli.

Snowstorm  was also Group 2, judged by Jo Schepers, the Netherlands.

BOS  was Airescot Splendid Sunday, winning the CC and CACIB,

just one week over the 15 months required for being awarded a CACIB.

She is by Airescot Broadway (the BOS-winner above) ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All

(dam of our current litter by Ch Wolf Tone Viking).
Splendid Sunday is owned by UllaBritta, Ideryd, Sweden, and was handled by daughter Anna.

Today our two litters are both three weeks old.
Our "kennel-boy" Carl-Emil has just arrived with his camera to spend the Summer with us
and he has taken some snapshots of all the Whippet puppies individually.
They are still too young to be stacked, but these pictures will at least give you an idea
of their markings and their present colouring. You'll also see which names they are given.

June 15

Two more shows to report from.

*June 7 at the Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Club Specialty in Gävle

Winterkloud Frejya won her 10th CC, BOB and BIS-2, all the way through judged by Öystein Eikeseth, Norway.
Best in Show was the black Miniature Schnauzer Ch Fixus Hasta La Vista.

His breeder Anne Wallin took the picture below and kindly sent it to me.

On this occasion her daughter Jannica, who is also the co-breeder, was handling the dog.

We now have two dogs to show in Junior Class and this time Winterkloud Hector stayed at home
amd Airescot Peer Gynt had a lovely day winning the dog CC and was BOS to Frejya.
In the afternoon he was BIS-Junior, judged by Sonny Ström, Sweden.

*The following weekend, June 14, Peer Gynt was shown again at the Swedish KC International show at Avesta
and won his third CC and BOB, judged by Britta Roos-Börjeson, Sweden.
BOS to Peer was Winterkloud Frejya, winning her 11th CC and 5th CACIB,
Peer, just having celebrated his first birthday, is still too young to be awarded CACIB.

June 12

Just after I made the latest Update my computor broke down!
Luckily I had a back-up of most files but I lost all my recent e-mails, my address book and all my favourites,
so it'll take some time before I'm back tor normal.
As I'm a technical idiot, I have got a specialist to help me reinstall all my programs
and we are now trying to make today's update - with a couple of snapshots of the Whippet puppies,

Both litters, the Whippets and the Affenpinschers, are two weeks old today,
The puppies haven't opened their eyes yet and the pictures are not very interesting;
but we'll try to take better ones, also of the Affen puppies, next week.
The puppies are all fat and thriving and taken well care of by their mothers.

May 30

Yesterday we had quite an incredible day, as both our bitches decided that this was the day for whelping,

They both gave birth to their litters unbelievably easy, quick and successful.

"Taksi", the Whippet, started at 2 in the afternoon and at 4.30 she had produced 1 male and 7 seven bitches!

At nine in the evening "Gimmi", the Affenpinscher, had her first contractions. After half an hour the first puppy was born

and 1½ hour later she had given birth to four, 3 males and 1 bitch, all very black.

The only thing we could possibly have wished for would have been three bitches instead of only one.
Now we hope that some of you waiting for a bitch will consider having a male instead!

*A flying start to the show career for our young Affenpinschers,
our five months old bitch puppy Airescot Christmas Carol (Anzolas Vincenct Black Shadow ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot)

and our 14 months old boy Winterkloud Hector.
Last weekend at the Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Club Specialty at Österbybruk
Carol was BOB Puppy and Hector won his first CC from Junior Class.
BOB was his cousin, our Winterkloud Frejya, winning her CC #8. Breed judge was Kirtsi Kentala, Finland.

The following day at the Swedish KC All Breeds Show at Österbybruk
Carol was too young to be shown, but Hector won his second CC and BOB!
BOS  was Winterkloud Frejya, winning her CC #9, but still too young to be qualified for her title.

Breed judge was Csaba Zsolt Lokodi, Romania. Hector was pulled out but unplacd in the group.

Congratulations to the breeder of Hector and Frejya: Sarah McGill, England!
Sadly enough no picture was taken of the two kennelmates winning BOB and BOS.
 

*We are now concentrating on taking care of "Taksi" and "Gimmi",
expecting their litters within a week.

To celebrate that I have just survived my 75th birthday it has been suggested that I should publish
this picture of myself, taken on the day by one of my daughters in law.
Like a queen I was waving to my family,

*Here is a brag about the first Champion sired by our American Affenpinscher "Ross", Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim.
From his first litter after his arrival in Sweden, ex. Ch Anzolas Tiril, the bitch Terrietype I'm The Last Puppy
was sold to Alfred Hove in Norway. Only a couple of weeks after her second birthday in March
 she won the qualifying CC for her Norwegian title at the Norwegian KC International show in Bergen,
Today at the International KC show in Kristiansand, Norway, she was BOB of 12 Affenpinschers,
judged by Christine Rossier, Switzerland.
Congratulations to her owner in Norway, and to her breeder Anita Andersson, Sweden.
This bitch is a litter sister to our Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot, the dam of our "Christmas" litter.

*From England we just received good news from The National Whippet Association Championship Show held today,
where Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal won the res. CC from Veteran class, and again was Best Veteran in Show.

Best Veteran bitch was again Ch Collooney Silver Silas, the dam of our "Taksi", Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,

Rascal's daughter bred in Ireland by Viv Coulter.
The judges were Gay Robertson and Sandra Marshall, England.

April 27

*Yesterday, four months and one day old, the young Affenpinscher Airescot Christmas Gift, "Chopper" to his friends,

had a flying start to his show career by winning BOB Puppy of four in his breed, winning his Group competing with 13 BOB winners

and finally being placed BIS-2 in competition with 8 Group winners.
This happened at a Puppy Show for All Breeds in Örnsköldsvik in the northern part of Sweden.
Proud owner is Chatrin Lundberg, who is also the owner of Chopper's sire Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow.
Chopper's dam is Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot. Baby pictures of Chopper can be seen under Updates Februay 4

Yesterday at the Swedish KC National All Breeds Show in Västerås near Stockholm

our young Affenpinscher male Airescot Peer Gynt made a flying start to his career by gaining his first CC and BOS.
He was beaten for BOB by his kennelmate Winterkloud Frejya, winning her seventh CC.

Her day was crowned by a 3rd in Group placement.
Gunnel Holm, Finland, judged the breed. Group judge was Göran Bodegård.

*Pauline Oliver, Spyanfly Whippets in England, has kindly sent us a few pictures
of Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal at Crufts 2008 and also at the Whippet Club Championship show in England April 4,
where Rascal was Best In Show Veteran. BOS Veteran was Ch Collooney Silver Silas -
a nice couple as they are the parents of our Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All, "Taksi".

Marie Hamill, Ireland, judged Affenpinschers at the Swedish KC International Easter Show in Stockholm,
where she made our Winterkloud Frejya BOS, winning another CC with CACIB.
BOB-winner was the young male Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow, "Knutte", winning his 10th CC.

Both of them are still too young to qualify for their titles.
"Knutte" is the sire of our recent litter ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot
and is also pictured on her page.

Six weeks since last Update!

After six weeks of hard work (who said that I had retired from work?),

interrupted by a judging appointment in Belgium and five days of fun at Crufts,
I now have a piece of sad news and also some good news.

*The sad piece of news comes from Finland, where Saara Murtovaara and Jatta Toivola
have just lost Ch Airescot Emily Gray (Ch Airescot Fandango ex. Ch Airescot Wendy)
at the age of almost 15 years.

Another good evidence of the super life Saara and Jatta are offering their Whippets is that
Airescot Carousel (Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman ex. Ch Moscow's Anastasia)

is still around, now almost 16 years old.

It was also with these loving people that Sporting Field Irish Mist, Paris Beatrix of Tiber,
Lorricbrook Monopoly and Sportingfields Jazz Fest spent their six months of then required
"home quarantine" in Europe before being allowed into Sweden.
We are forever grateful to Saara and Jatta.

*A good piece of news is that Airescot Cyber Dragon

(Sporting Fields B&W Airescot ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All)
gained his first CC and  was second Best Dog with res. CACIB
at the Swedish KC International show in Malmö yesterday.

*Finally we must brag again about Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal,
who not only was the winner of the big Veteran Dogs Class at Crufts a week ago.
Today he went to The British Whippet Breed Council's Match Show in Chesterfield,
to which all CC and res. CC winners in England during 2007 were invited.
In competition with some 60 Whippets, dogs and bitches, Rascal was the Winner of the Match!
Congratulations to June Minns for keeping Rascal in such superb condition!
We are very proud.

Tomorrow we had hoped to be able to take new pictures of our Affenpinscher puppies, with enough light,

but our helping hand won't be here until the puppies are seven weeks,
so until then we'll have to be satisfied with the 5½ week pictures, taken last week.

Finally, kindly assisted by our guest Ilona from Latvia, we managed to take some snapshots

but to rely on daylight giving enough light for those shots was not one of my better ideas,

A good start to the new year with four healthy Affenpinscher puppies
and two successful International All Breed Shows in Sweden.

*Our four Christmas puppies, now two weeks old, have just opened their eyes.
The boys are named Airescot Christmas Cracker and A. Christmas Gift,
the bitches A. Christmas Carol and A. Christmas Eve.

*At the two International All Breed Shows in Gothenburg, Sweden
our young Affenpinscher bitch Winterkloud Frejya was for the first time old enough (15 months) to be eligible for a CACIB.

She managed to win two CC's, two CACIB's and furthermore she was BOB both days!
Breed judges were Johan Juslin, Finland and Terry Nethercott, UK.

*In Norwich Terriers at these two shows we were also very proud that Int Ch Airescot Joy Bells,
owned and handled by Kristina Jerlin, was BOB the first day.
Day two she was beaten for BOB by her half sister Int Ch Airescot Ada Lovelace,
owned and handled by Lene Weum, Norway.
These two bitches are both by our Canadian guest Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only,
now since many years back in his native country.

Being beaten for BOB day two, Kristina Jerlin was comforted with seeing her homebred young son

ex. Joy Bells, Cog-Wheel's Alladin-Sane, win the dog CC, CACIB and BOS.

Breed judges were Salvatore Tripoli, Italy and Rui Oliveira, Portugal.

UPDATES 2007

December 31

On this last day of 2007 it's time to reflect and summarize.

As most of you in the Scandinavian Whippet world have noticed I have hardly been seen

in the Whippet rings during 2007 - and that is no coincidence. I still hope to breed a Whippet litter occasionally,
but I'll no longer be handling Whippets in the ring. As I so much enjoy handling my dogs myself,

I'll probably for the future stick to owning and handling Affenpinschers,
as I can still keep pace with them in the ring.

WHIPPETS IN 2007

Looking at the Swedish Top Winning Lists for Whippets in 2007
I'm delighted to find that Airescot is #3 among the Top Breeders.
As I haven't shown a single Airescot Whippet myself during 2007
this is only thanks to ambitious and devoted owners of Airescot Whippets,
and I'm very grateful to all of you.

I'm also very proud to find that among the top winning stud dogs for 2007

Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal is #3, Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion is #5

and Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest is #9.

Among the top winning brood bitches Ch Airescot Royal Occasion is #4.

In England Ch A. Ruby Rascal won his 10th British CC, this time from Veteran class.

We bred one Whippet litter during the past year, by Airescot Broadway ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All.
It was a lovely litter and, so far, the puppies show great promise.

AFFENPINSCHERS IN 2007

    I'm very pleased that our "Ross", Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, is again Sweden's Top Winning Affenpinscher,

just like he was in 2006, when he was imported from the US. From now on he'll only be shown on special occasions.

A second thing to brag about is that our British import Winterkloud Frejya has managed to finish the year as #3
among the Top Winning Affenpinschers in Sweden. All this winning has been done from Junior class,
as Frejya not until yesterday, December 30, was 15 months old.

#4 on the list is the young male Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow, sire of our now one week old litter

ex. Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot.

Our first bred Affenpinscher puppy, Airescot Peer Gynt,  now 7 months old, is already giving us lots o fun.

NORWICH TERRIERS IN 2007

If I have been invisible in the Whippet rings, I have been even more invisible in the Norwich rings.

Only three Airescot Norwich Terriers were shown in 2007, Ch Airescot Ada Lovelace and Ch Airescot Joy Bells

once each, and Ch Airecot Pamela Mitford a few times, enough for her to gain her Swedish title and end up as #10

among the Top Winning bitches in Sweden. She is co-owned and handled by Lena Key.

We are proud to note that Int Ch Airescot Jumping For Joy is #4 among the Top Winning Stud Dogs,
and his litter sister, Int Ch Airescot Joy Bells, is #2 among the Top Winning Brood Bitches.
Joy Bells is owned by Kristina Jerlin, who has been so successful with her first litter as a breeder of Norwich Terriers.

PLANS FOR 2008

During the first part of 2008 we hope to breed a Whippet litter ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,
a Norwich Terrier litter ex. Ch Airescot Pamela Mitford and an Affenpinscher litter ex. Schnaffentangens Gimmi Gimmi,

dam of Airescot Peer Gynt.

For breeders of animals life and death are often not very far apart.

Still mourning for the loss of Redee, I have been blessed with a wonderful litter of Affenpinschers.
Christmas day "Micki", Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot,
quickly and easily gave birth to four puppies, two males and two bitches.

December 19

Good news are often followed by bad news.
This is also the case now, when my most beloved Whippet has left me.
Airescot Red Redee just had a stroke and lost all control of herself.

Next month we would have celebrated her 12th birthday.
A week ago she was running in the woods like a youngster, now she is suddenly dead.
It's very difficult to accept that we'll never more see her happy smile and everwagging tail.
She had the perfect Whippet temperament, for me there will never be another one like her.
What Airescot Gillian Lynne meant to me among Deerhound bitches,

Redee has meant to me among Whippets bitches.

December 17

Now it's over with, the grand final show for 2007 in Sweden,
the Stockholm International and Nordic Winner show, with an entry of just over 10 000 dogs.
As is often the case with these final shows many of the usual winners were thrown out,
and in many breeds things were turned more or less upside down.

No Whippet of ours were entered, we co-owned or/and had bred a couple of entered Norwich Terriers
and we had entered two of our own Affenpinschers - and we had certainly no reason to complain!

*24 Norwich Terriers were entered under judge David Miller from the US.

His second best male was Ch Airescot Charles Dickens

(Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only ex. Ch Fairewood Felicitations), owned and well handled by Lena Key.

Second best bitch with CACIB was Ch Airescot Pamela Mitford (Ch Loddon's Prince Valiant ex. Airescot Such Is Life)   

owned by Airescot and co-owned and again well handled by Lena Key.

Third best bitch was her half sister Int Ch Airescot Joy Bells

(Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only ex. Airescot Such Is Life),

handled by her owner Kristina Jerlin, who was also the proud breeder ex. Joy Bells

of the CC-winning young male and his litter sister, which were 3rd best male and 4th best bitch resp.

The litter brother of A. Joy Bells, Int Ch Airescot Jumping For Joy,
had sired a very happy and outgoing junior dog, who was 4th best male.

BOB was Ch Villa Ekbackens Grymma Gubben,
and BOS was Villa Ekbackens Jambalaya from Junior class, too young to be rewarded the CACIB.

Congratulations to all involved!

*25 Affenpinschers were entered under Swedish judge Patric Ragnarsson.

BOB and Nordic Winner Affenpinscher male was our Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, "Ross".

BOS to him was our British import Winterkloud Frejya, last time out in Junior Class, as she is soon 15 months old.
She was still too young to be awarded the CACIB, but she won her third CC and was
Nordic Winner Junior Bitch 2007 as well as Nordich Winner Affenpinscher bitch 2007.
These wins qualified both of them for Crufts 2008.

Just a few notes as not much has happened since last Update,
but we must spread the news that our first bred Airescot Affenpinscher.
Airescot Peer Gynt, has now got his own page on this website.
Very suitable as he made his debut in the show ring yesterday, at the tender age of 5½ months.

October 30

I'm still alive!

So sorry about this incredibly long silence with no Updates whatsoever.
The simple reason is that I have been away from home for almost six weeks,
staying on the Riviera, where I have been working on the translation of a book.
The Whippets stayed at home in the house with friends,
the Affenpinschers went with me to enjoy the house, the garden and the beautiful weather in France.

The Internet communication down there was very unreliable and very expensive,
that's one of the reasons for the lack of Updates.
Another reason was, of course, that there wasn't much news to report on,
but here are a few nice pieces:

*At the Midland Whippet Club Specialty, October 20th, Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal gained his 10th CC in Great Britain,
this time from Veteran Class. He was Best Veteran In Show and also Reserve Best In Show,
only beaten by the BIS-winning young bitch Courthill Cast A Shadow.

The judges were Mrs. J. McLeod and Mrs. J. Vagges.

Thank you, June Minns, for keeping Rascal in such excellent condition!

*From the Sobresalto kennels in Italy I have some good news about Airescot Justina Casagli
(Ch Sportinfields Jazz Fest ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber).
She has gained the special title "Reproducing Champion", which means that she is already the dam
of three champions in two different litters.

Furthermore, at an Italian Whippet Specialty in September Göran Bodegard found his BIS-winner
in Ch Sobresalto Pourquoi Pas by Ch Airescot Gold Field.

The CAC winner from Open class, qualifying him for his Italian champion title, was Sobresalto Tally Ho,
a son of S. Pourquoi Pas ex. A. Justina Casagli.

Another son of Pourquoi Pas was BIS Youngster, judged by Bitte Ahrens.
We are very proud to have been contributing to the Sobresalto success!

*Also good news from Rosemary Smith in South Africa about Ch Airescot Emerald Expression

(Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Emily Gray) who, from the only five litters he has sired,

 has now added a seventh champion to his progeny, one of them a Multi All Breed BIS Winner.

*And finally today the good news of our hopes for a second Airescot Affenpinscher litter!

October 23 our Ross-daughter Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot, "Micki", was bred to the young dog

Anzolas Vincent Black Shadow, currently #4 on Sweden's Top Affenpinscher list 2007.

September 2

August 26, at the Stockholm KC one day All Breeds Show outside Stockholm in memory of Ulla och Bertil Sted Gren,
Airescot Broadway gained his 4th Swedish CC and was 3rd Best Dog.
Airescot Royal Romance did even better, as she, apart from also gaining her 4th Swedish CC, also won BOB and Group 4.

Elisabet Janzon, Sweden judged the breed. Barbara Ruth Smith, US, judged the group.

These two Whippets are owned and handled by sisters Elisabeth Magnusson and Marie Gellerstam,
Broadway, "Spike", is by Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman ex. Allsatin Swedish Love Affair.
Royal Romance, "Tracy", is by Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion.

Due to the new rule for all Sighthounds in Sweden, a qualifying CC must be gained at a show
arranged by the Swedish Sighthound Club. That's why these two Whippets have not yet qualified for their titles,
in spite of fulfilling all other requirements.

August 21

The past weekend was one of the craziest of my doings so far,
but luckily also very successful and thus worth all the struggle.

*As Ross, our American Affenpinscher, has a docked tail there are not many countries
in which he can be shown to get qualified for his International title.
So far he has 17 CACIB's in Sweden, one in Finland, only thanks to the dispensation
for docked dogs given at the European World Winner show last year.

In the Baltic countries dogs with docked tails are still allowed to be shown,

so Friday evening Ross and I flew to Estonia and the International All Breeds show in Tallinn.
We arrived a couple of hours after midnight, and after very few hours of sleep at a hotel facing a night club

we went to the show, where Ross won the CC, CACIB and BOB and was thus qualified for his International title.

As our flight back to Sweden was in the late afternoon we couldn't stay for the group judging,

but got home reasonably early for some more hours of sleep, before driving off at 6.00 a.m.

to the Swedish KC All Breeds show in Nyköping, to which show Ross

and our 11 months old Affen bitch Winterkloud Frejya were entered and were to be judged first in our ring at 9.00 a.m.

Of the18 Affenpinschers entered Ross was again Best Dog, Frejya was Best Bitch winning her second CC from Junior Class,

and then she was BOB over Ross and later even pulled out in the Group!

She is the second bitch ever to have beaten Ross for BOB in Sweden. Our breed judge was Svante Frisk, Sweden.

*Our Whippet news from the past weekend are from England and Norway.

At the East Anglian Whippet Club Championship show Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal was entered in Veteran Class.
17 Veteran Dogs and 11 Veteran Bitches were entered, and Rascal won Best Veteran in Show!

At two small shows in Norwegian Mo i Rana a dog fram Rascal's first ever litter, born in 2001,
and a bitch from his latest Swedish bred litter produced by AI in 2005 were BOB and BOS.

BOS was the dog Ch Courtbourne Ramazotti, bred in Norway ex. Ch Paper Moon's Parisian Mamsell,

BOB and winner of the Sighthound Group was "Zaffran", Ch Airescot Royal Rose ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion.

Her straight road to Nordic champion titles was described in the July 23 Update below.

The same owner's bitch puppy Airescot Splendid Sunday, pictured below, a litter sister to "Merit" and "Blåå"
bragged about in my August 8 and August 13 Updates, was BIS-4 Puppy Saturday and BIS-3 Puppy Sunday.

*Today, from an entry of more than 200 Whippets at the All Breeds Championship Show at Bournemouth, England,

Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal, now seven ýears old, won the Res. Dog CC
beaten for the CC by his son Osterfen Diamond At Silenko (ex. Ch Osterfen Amber Nymph)

winning his first CC and BOS.

*At the Swedish Whippet Club Annual Meeting in connection with the Breed Specialty in July
the bitch Airescot Jenny Lind (Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber), owned by Jeannette Lindblad and Peter Vecht,

and the dog  Airescot Primetime (Ch Carmodey Prima di Tutto ex. Ch Airescot Serene Silver), owned by Johanna Roos and David Sehlberg
were awarded the much coveted Triple Prize. Well done, dogs and owners, you do not win this prize without hard work!

*At the Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty in Visby in the beginning of July I was just told
that Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion (Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Lorricbrook Monopoly)

won Best In Show with his Progeny Group, judged by Frank Kane. Congratulations to the proud owner of "Dennis", Birgitta Linderoth.

*At the SKK International Show in Ronneby Saturday Airescot Harris (Skräddaregården's Spicey Lion ex. Collooney Dancing Queen)
was third Best Dog from Junior class, handled by Carl-Emil Nettelman for his grandmother.

*The last brag today is about 4 months old Airescot Sunday Suntan, "Blåå",

 BIS-2 Puppy at the Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty in Umeå yesterday.
He's a litter brother of "Merit", bragged about below, and is proudly owned and handled by Elisabeth Magnusson.

Great news from South Africa about Airescot Sunday Sunrise, "Merit"

(Airescot Broadway ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All)

"Merit" has made his debut in the show ring at the tender age of 4½ months,

where he wasn't only BOB Baby Whippet Puppy.
He was also BOB Whippet over the adults, and then went on to win the Hound Puppy Group!

Congratulations to his owners Rosemary and Peter Smith (Smithvale Whippets).

August 1

Just about to recover after a very hectic weekend with the Annual Swedish Whippet & Sighthound Specialties
plus the Annual Swedish Affenpinscher Specialty.

*Some 270 Whippets were entered both days. Such an enormous competition taken in account,
we were very pleased that "Taksi", our Irish bitch Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,
was 5th Best Bitch in show at the Whippet breed Specialty, where Ch Airescot Red Redee,

now 11 years old, was BIS Veteran, and that Taksi at the Sighthound Specialty was 4th best Whippet bitch.
 

Other well placed Airescot Whippets were Airescot Broadway, Airescot Cyber Dragon,
Airescot Dark Magician, Airescot JJ and Airescot Primula. Congratulations to their owners and handlers.

Whippet judges this year were
Ian Doherty, Martinique, Australia and Jackie White, Baldrey, England.

*At the Affenpinscher Specialty almost 50 Affens were entered under Swedish Breed Specialist Siv Jernhake.

We had the most fantastic day with "Ross", Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, winning Best In Show,
and our British import Winterkloud Frejya, winning Best Opposite Sex from Junior Class.

From Intermediate Class our "Micki", Terrietype I'm Jane Airescot,
from Ross' first Swedish bred litter, was fourth Best Bitch.

July 23

Congratulations to UllaBritta and Anna Ideryd for their achievements with their young bitch Airescot Royal Rose

(Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion).

In Pello, Finland, this past weekend she gained her qualifying Finnish CC, which, together with her Swedish and Estonian CC's,
makes her not only a Finnish but also a Swedish and Estonian Champion.
She has also gained enough CACIB's in three countries during more than the required year

to make her an International Champion as soon as it has been confirmed by the FCI.
In Norway she has already gained two CC:s but so far none after her second birthday,
which is required for the champion title, but it seems rather likely that she'll soon also become a Norwegian champion.

At the show in Pello, Zaffran, as she is called, did not only win the CC, but also BOB
and in the afternoon judge Moa Persson gave her the Sighthound Group!

What more can a breeder expect from a puppy buyer?

July 17

Two pieces of news, forgotten yesterday:

*At the American Affenpinscher National Specialty a week ago

Ross' litter brother Ch Yarrow's Action Jackson won Best In Show,
owned and handled by his breeder Beth Sweigart. Congratulations to them!
The previous weekend Beth was in Sweden,
where she judged Affenpinschers at the Swedish Kennel Club All Breeds Show in Borås.

*June 23 and 24 our whippet Sporting Fields B&W Airescot appeared in two of his rare shows,

this time at a Sighthound Specialty in Denmark, where he won the CC both days.

Judges were Mr and Mrs Knoll from Brazil.

July 16

Now happily recovered from some major surgery I'll publish news from two shows.

*The most sensational and perhaps once in a lifetime happening took place at the SKK Int Show in Borås, July 1st,

where Geir Flyckt Pedersen, US, judged the breed and his five Best Dogs all happened to be bred by Airescot:

Airescot Broadway gained his third CC, which would have made him a champion, if a new rule in Sweden hadn't required

that one of the qualifying CC's must be awarded at a Sighthound Club show. Broadway is owned and handled by Elisabeth Magnusson.
Second best dog was Airescot Cyber Dragon from Intermediate Class, owned by Johanna Roos and David Sehlberg,

handled by Johanna. Third best dog was his litter brother Airescot Dark Magician, owned and handled by Pernilla Åhs.

Fourth best dog was a litter brother to Broadway, Airescot Fifth Avenue, owned and handled by Allette Boos,
and, finally, fifth best dog was Ch Airescot Silver Sensation, also owned and handled by Pernilla Åhs.
These five dogs represented three different combinations.

The first four went into the big ring to compete with the 20 Breeder's Groups, where they were awarded
an honourable 5th place by Sue Goldberg, USA. Thank you to all the owners for keeping the Airescot flag flying without me!

*At Tvååker in Sweden there are always two Swedish KC shows for all breeds, one National, one International.
They took place last weekend and we were there with our Whippet bitch Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,
shown for the first time since her litter born in March. She was second best bitch both days, judged by Dan Ericsson

(his first Whippet appointment in Sweden) and Svante Frisk resp.

*Ross, our Affenpinscher, had two good days at Tvååker and was BOB and placed in his huge group both days.
Breed judges were Ann Horan, GB and Diane Anderson, US. Group judges were Marit Sunde, Norway and Diane Anderson.

And our Winterkloud Frejya was first time out as a Junior after her many wins as a puppy.

She was awarded her first CC and BOS by Diane Anderson.

*Finally we must brag about several of Ross' young progeny having won their first CC's.

His youngest offspring is our Airescot Peer Gynt, now six weeks old and trotting off happily as in the snapshot below.
His dam is our Schnaffentangens Gimmi Gimmi.

June 18

*Today Airescot Peer Gynt opened his eyes and says hello to the world.
 

Saturday his sire "Ross" had a another good day, this time at the SKK All Breeds show in Avesta,
winning BOB and second in group. Jahn Stääv judged the breed. Group judge was Nina Karlsdotter.
BOS to Ross was Peer Gynt's aunt, Schnaffentangens Glade Gunda, winning her first CC from Intermediate class.

*Good news also from England, where Ruby Rascal's daughter Ch Oakbark Mystery Romance at Brownsover
(ex. Ch Oakbark Mystical Pride) won her fourth CC, BOB and second in Hound Group
at the Border Union Agricultural Society Championship show.

Mrs. Ledger, Tradewind Whippets, was the breed judge. The Hound Group was judged by Frank Boswell.

June 13

*June 5 the first ever Airescot Affenpinscher was born.
In honour of his Norwegian bred dam, Schnaffentangens Gimmi Gimmi, his name will be Airescot Peer Gynt.

His proud sire is our "Ross", Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim.

*From Rosemary Smith, Smithvale Whippets, I just received a picture of Airescot Sunday Sunrise, "Merit",
taken just after his arrival in Johannesburg, South Africa.

I couldn't resist matching it with a puppy picture of his grandfather Airescot Ruby Rascal, taken by Annika Janson.
 I find their similar, sweet expressions quite irresistible,

and I'm so relieved to see that "Merit" looks as relaxed and charming as ever, even after his long flight.

Almost a month now since last Update, sorry about that.

* Most of Taksi's puppies have left for their new homes.
Spring Sunday has gone to Anita Hansen in Norway, Splendid Sunday is staying in Sweden

with UllaBritta Ideryd, who already is the owner of two Airescot bitches.

Sunday Surprise is also staying in Sweden with Jenny Orvarsson, Orust,

and Sunday Suntan has gone to Elisabeth Magnusson to join his sire, Airescot Broadway.

Tomorrow morning Sunday Sunshine is leaving for Zita Bretka in Hungary, who already has Airescot Miracle Fusion,
and on Wednesday Sunday Sunrise goes to Rosemary Smith, Smithvale Whippets, in South Africa,
whose Ch Airescot Emerald Expression, now seven years old, has been a most successful stud dog.

*Our Affenpinschers have been to a few shows and have done very well in good competition.
"Ross" is so far this year unbeaten in the breed in Sweden, and so is Winterkloud Frejya, our bitch puppy.

They were both shown at the Swedish KC All Breeds Show at Österbybruk outside Stockholm May 12,

where Hans Almgren judged the breed. Frejya was pulled out among some 60 puppies of All Breeds,

and Karl-Erik Johansson gave Ross an honourable second place in his huge group.

Yesterday, at a Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Specialty, Ross and Frejya were again BOB and BOB Puppy resp.

judged by Anita Whitmarsh, Sweden, and in the finals, judged by Torbjörn Skaar, Sweden,
Frejya was BIS Puppy and Ross was BIS-2! A great day for the breed and for us!

Today six weeks old Taksi's puppies by Spike have enjoyed another Sunday,
much appreciating not to be stacked, but instead being allowed to run wild and free in the sun.

April 9

As always at Easter we have the Swedish KC International All Breeds Show in Stockholm
and the prestigious competitions Veteran of Veterans and Champion of Champions,
to which the top winners at the previous year's Swedish KC shows are invited.

We were extremely proud that "Ross", our Affenpinscher, was invited to Champion of Champions,
one of only five from his huge group, and a first time ever for his breed to be represented here.

In the breed ring "Ross" was again BOB with CACIB (his 15th !),
and we were happy to introduce our latest addition to this delightful breed at her first show.
Six months old Winterkloud Frejya, imported from England, made a successful debut in Puppy Class
winning BOB Puppy. She was also later pulled out in the final.

April 1

Today Taksi's Sunday puppies by Spike are 14 days old.

They have now been given their Sunday names and have also been pictured one at a time,

even if still only thriving lumps, just about to open their eyes.

March 23

Only a few days ago we were happy to report on the birth of a lovely Whippet litter.
Today we are very sad to report on the death of the great great grandfather of these puppies,

 our beloved "Irish", US Int Ch Sporting Field's Irish Mist.

He had just celebrated his 13th birthday, but for some time now he has not been well,
so we decided that we would not let him suffer after having lived such a long and wonderful life.

For many years Irish has been living with Pernilla Råberg and Peter Mellström,
who have given him the best life a dog could wish for.

Irish has been a very influential stud dog, and many breeders have appreciated to have him

in the pedigrees of their breeding. Most of his progeny have inherited his strength,

his beautiful head & expression, and his special charisma and alert show temperament.

The picture below, taken by Åsa Lindholm, has always represented the Whippet breed on our website.

Irish will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Yesterday, Sunday, March 18, Taksi quickly and successfully whelped her litter by "Spike", Airescot Broadway.

From Norway we just received this lovely picture of Schnaffentangens Rosso Zorro and Schnaffentangens Rossa Lita,

now three weeks old puppies by our "Ross" in his latest litter

 bred by Grete Hansen and Frank Torkildsen, Norway, ex. Ch Schnaffentangens Nille.

February 25

A few short notes before this short, snowy month comes to end.

*A couple of weeks ago at an Áll Breeds Show in Norway five Affenpinschers were entered

and judged by Jean Lanning. As winners of the Bitch CC with BOB and second Best Bitch

Mrs Lanning chose two litter sisters from Junior class, Terrietype I'm The Last Puppy

and  Terrietype I'm Á Jungle Virus. They are sired by our American import Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, "Ross",

in his first born litter in Scandinavia ex. Ch Anzolas Tiril, bred in Sweden by Anita Andersson

and both owned in Norway by Alfred Hove. Congratulations to breeder and owner!

*A second piece of good news is that "Taksi", Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,

is definitely in whelp. The litter is expected around March 20.

The sire of this litter, Airescot Broadway, was shown today in Intermediate class at a Swedish Sighthound Specialty

near Stockholm, judged by Espen Engh, and was placed Second Best Dog,

another lovely win for this young male, owned and handled by Elisabeth Magnusson.

Just back from the short but nice judging trip to Florida I have two pieces of news, one is sad, one is exciting.

*The sad piece of news for all those who are waiting for a puppy from our Norwich Terrier bitch Airescot Pamela Mitford is

that she did not conceive. We thought she was pregnant, but no. It was to be expected, though, as she was mated too late.

*In Whippets the exciting piece of news is that "Taksi", Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,
was bred yesterday to the young Airescot Broadway. This is a change of breeding plans.

Before leaving for the US tomorrow for a judging appointment at the Florida circuit
I'll just quickly report on a couple of quite successful days for the Airescot Whippets

as well as for our Affenpinscher Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim in Gothenburg last weekend.

*At the Swedish KC All Breeds National show our young boy Airescot Broadway (Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman ex. Allsatin Swedish Love Affair)
won the CC from Intermediate Class and was Best Male. He's co-owned and handled by Elisabeth Magnusson.
First time out in Open Class Airescot Royal Romance (Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion)

was second Best Bitch, owned and handled by Marie Gellerstam.

 Int Ch Airescot Red Redee (Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist ex. Ch Oakbark Mercia), a couple of weeks before her 11th birthday

was 5th Best Bitch, Best Whippet Veteran and Fourth Best Veteran all the breeds on that day in the final ring.

*At the Swedish Sighthound Specialty also held during the same weekend in Gothenburg

Ch Airescot Silver Sensation (Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion) was Best Male.

He's owned and handled by Pernilla Åhs. Airescot Broadway was third Best Male, BOB Whippet Intermediate and BIS-5 Intermediate.

From Junior Class Airescot Cyber Dragon (Sportingfields B&W Airescot ex. Ch Collooneý Winner Takes It All)

was BOB Junior Whippet and BIS-4 Junior. He is owned by David Sehlberg and Johanna Roos and was handled by Johanna.

Finally a young daughter of A. Silver Sensation, Bokellas Ocean's Twelve ex. Bokellas Pansy Parkinson,

bred, owned and handled by Siv Ögren, was BOB Whippet Puppy.

*Another good weekend for our Affenpinscher Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim.  He was BOB at the National as well as

at the International KC All Breeds show and was placed No. 5 in his Group the first day and made the cut of 8 the second day.

UPDATES 2006

December 21

Christmas is very soon over us, and then a new year is waiting around the corner, so perhaps time for a sum up.

2006 has been a year of almost too much travelling for me, Nenne, with big and exciting judging appointments

in Sweden as well as in England and the US.

The Swedish Top Winning Lists in Various Breeds are now being published,

and we are just as surprised as pleased to see that Airescot is placed 2nd among the Top Winning Whippet breeders.

As we have hardly shown any Airescot Whippets ourselves this year,

we have not contributed much to this result - apart from breeding the dogs, that is.

So we want to say Thank You and Well Done to the owners of several Airescot Whippets
who have kept the Airescot flag flying during 2006!

In Norwich Terriers we have been almost totally absent in the rings ourselves, and we have bred one single puppy!

Very few Airescot Norwich Terriers have been shown during 2006.

It all boils down to the fact that, when at home, we have been concentrating on our new breed, the Affenpinscher.

We have been quite captivated by these small, smart and sporty little clowns,

and we are very proud that our American import Champion Yarrow's Jungle Jim

has had such a fantastic year in the Swedish rings, winning a couple of BIS- placements at All Breed Shows, several groups
and a great number of group placements in hardest possible competition.

People say that "Ross" has put the breed on the map in Sweden. They may be right,

and if so we are very pleased to be involved in such a contribution to the breed.

In any case all these wins have made "Ross" Sweden's Top Winning Affenpinscher 2006,

and we want to thank Beth Sweigart and Letisha Wubble for letting us have this great little dog

and Petter Fodstad for keeping his coat in order between the shows.

December 5

Last night Håkan Lagerström, Oakshaw Whippets, Sweden, the owner of Ch Airescot Red Rum,

brought me the sad message that "Ram" had been kindly put down after some time having suffered from kidney problems.

Ram was one of the three males in the remarkable litter by Multi Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist ex. Ch Oakbark Mercia,

born in January 1996, so in a month's time it will be 11 years ago.

Ram was indeed a whippet of all arts. Apart from being a lovely companion and a show champion

he was an excellent racer and courser. In 2004 he received the Swedish Whippet Club's very coveted Triple Prize,

having achieved merits in five sports, even though only three are required for the prize.

During 2006, at the age of almost 11, he managed to become a Blood Trial Champion.

Thank you, Håkan, for giving Ram such a happy, exciting and successful life!

The picture below was taken by Malin Westlie at the Stockholm show in December 2004, when Ram was shown in Veteran class.

Sadly enough Ram never had any progeny, but his litter brothers Ch A. Red Rooster in Argentina

and Ch A. Red Robin in Norway, as well as his litter sisters Ch, A. Red Riding Hood in Greece and

Ch A. Red Redee with the Airescots in Sweden have all been bred from successfully

and now appear in many predigrees around the world, so Ram's genes will not be lost.

Red Robin, Red Riding Hood and Red Redee are still going strong.

November 26

We are just back from the World Show in Poznan, Poland, where Airescot progeny made us very proud:
*Kristina Jerlin's Norwich Terrier bitch Int Ch Airescot Joy Bells (Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only ex. Airescot Such Is Life)
won BOB over some 50 Norwich Terriers, as always presented and handled by Susanne Andreasson, Sweden.

*Of some 170 Whippets the BOB-winner from champion class was GB Ch Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina,

Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal's first British champion daughter. She was handled by her breeder/owner Paul Jones, England,

and was one of six to be pulled out in the Sighthound Group.

*Allette's Tosca (Airescot Winter Tale ex. Airescot Olympic Fest)  won the big Intermediate class,
bred, owned and handled by Allette Boos, Sweden.

*Our own Rascal daughter Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All got a nice fourth place of the 25 champion bitches.

October 20

Even if I'm just back from a fortnight in the US, it's unbelievable that I haven't updated my website for more than a month!

Time is no doubt running faster than I am.

*Now I have some great news from South Africa, where the Whippet bitch Ch Corandy Jadore of Smithvale,

Hound of the Year (Sporting Dogs Ass.) in 2004 and 2005, was invited to an event for BIS-winners

from the previous year. "Jade", as she is called, won this competition and is Supreme Dog 2006!

She now has a daughter, who is winning Groups and BIS-placements.

Why do I brag of this bitch, you may wonder. The reason is that she is sired by Ch Airescot Emerald Expression

(Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Emily Gray), exported to the Smithvale Kennels in South Africa as a puppy.

"Jade" was bred by Rosemary Smith's daughter Corinne, now emigrated to New Zealand,

but "Jade"has always stayed with and been campaigned by Rosemary, Smithvale Kennels.

At kennel Magic Colour Airescot Scented Silver gave birth to one male and four bitches August 21,

*At the City of Birmingham All Breeds Championship Show Friday

Rainer Vuorinen judged the Champion Stakes and gave Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal a third place,

but his winner was Rascal's first British Champion daughter Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina,

mentioned on this website many times earlier, e.g. in the August 21 Update.

*From two All Breed Shows in Narvik, Norway during the past weekend we have received nice results for 8 months old

Airescot Magical Explosion (Sportingfields B & W Airescot ex. Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All).

*This weekend at the Swedish KC Int Show in Norrköping "Ross", our Affenpinscher,

was again third in his group beaten by the same Newfoundland and Great Dane as several times before,
but this time he had more competition already in the breed than usually
as the top winning Affenpinschers from Sweden as well as from Norway and Finland were entered and beaten.

Breed judge: Sue Bruno, Australia. Group judge: Per Svarstad, Sweden.

*Great news from Ireland, where at the Hound Association of Ireland Championship Show yesterday

Mossbawnhill Better Man won BOB, with GB Ch Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina winning BOS.

The judge was Guy Jeavons, Canada. What makes these wins especially fascinating is that

Ch Airescot Bob Fest sired the BOB-winner, bred and owned by Mr & Mrs Hunter, Ireland,

 while Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal sired the BOS-winner, bred and owned by Mr & Mrs Jones, England.

Good news, too, that the dam of M. Better Man, Collooney Mamma Mia,

a litter sister to our lovely bitches Ch C. Winner Takes It All and C. Dancing Queen (now having three lovely male puppies)

won the Green Star and CACIB at a previous International All Breeds Show, in Ireland,

judged by Dr Richard Greathouse, USA. Mamma Mia and her litter sisters are also sired by Ruby Rascal.

August 14

*We have forgotten to report on the latest achievements of our "Ross", the Affenpinscher,

so far unbeaten for BOB since his arrival in Sweden in January this year.

At the Swedish Schnauzer-Pinscher Specialty at Svenstavik August 5, "Ross" was BIS-4, and at the Swedish KC

All Breeds show the following day he was third in the huge group, to which he belongs in the FCI countries.

At the Swedish KC All Breeds show in Askersund August 12, he was again given an honourable 3rd place in the group.

Thanks to his great wins so far in 2006 he is currently Nr. 7 on the Swedish list of Top Winning dogs of All Breeds!

Quite amazing and unheard of for this breed in our part of the world, and thus worthy of bragging about.

*"Ross" has only been with us in Sweden for seven months, but has already sired 18 healthy puppies

from four litters, most of them bitch puppies! That is more than anyone could have dreamt of, and, in fact,

more than the Swedish Affenpinscher Club approves of. We hope to be able to introduce

a male with at least partly new blood to help up the situation.

From "Ross"' latest and, for the time being, last litter, born July 14th,

two lovely bitch puppies are still for sale. If you would be interested in buying one of them,

had a great weekend at two all breed shows in Northern Norway August 5 and 6

winning BOB, Group-1 and BIS-2 day one, and BOB, Group-1 and BIS day two!

Breed, Group amd BIS judge day one was Frank Christiansen, Norway. Breed & Group judge day two was Kresten Scheel, Denmark.

BIS judge day two was Brenda Banbury, England.

August 2

Two most exciting days of judging Whippets at the "Skokloster Summer Show", now called the "Gripsholm Summer Show"

due to the change of show site and castle.

Jackie Bourdin, du Manoir de la Grenouillere Whippets, and I shared the judging between us,

Jackie judging bitches for the Whippet Club Breed Specialty, where I judged the males and Best In Show,

Jackie judging males and BOB at the Sighthound Club Specialty, where I judged the bitches.

At the official Sunday show critiques had to be written on every exhibit, so due to the big entry

Margaret Dixon, Millwold Whippets, was called in from England to judge all puppies and juniors, males as well as bitches.

Jackie and I didn't end up with the same winners, but her BOB was my second Best Male

and her Best Bitch was my second Best Bitch so we were not very far from each other.

To find that Saturday's BOS-winner is a daughter of a half brother to Sunday's BOB-winner,

and that Sunday's BOS-winner is a daughter of Saturday's BIS-winner was an extra bonus!

It was a great entry with so many beautiful Whippets to choose between, as always especially among the bitches,

and there were quite a few exhibits from Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany and Italy to give the show an international flavour.

My perfect ring stewards, Conny Jansson and Caroline Appelfeldt, added to the joy of my day.

BIS-winner at the Whippet Breed Specialty was Multi Ch Sobresalto Jamiro Quai from Italy.

Yesterday, July 23, "Frida", Collooney Dancing Queen, gave birth to three male puppies, all solid red with white trim.

A very successful but long and hot weekend for the Airescots at the Three International Shows

at Högbo Bruk, Sweden July 14-16.

*In Whippets we were pleased to see so many Airescots being well placed all three days.

Airescot won BOB Breeder's group all three days but they did not compete in the finals.

followed by one Group 2 placement, one Group 4 and one making the cut of eight.

So all in all a most memorable weekend!

June 14

*Safely back from my latest crazy weekend which ended Sunday at the last day of the European Winner Show in Helsinki,

to which almost 10 000 dogs from 40 countries had been entered.
As "Ross", the Affenpinscher, has a docked tail he cannot normally be shown in Finland,
so this special show was his only chance to compete for a Finnish CC and CACIB.
And he won both plus the European Winner title plus BOB, judged by Soile Bister, Finland.
Rafael Malo Alcrudo from Spain spent one hour on the pre-judging of the unusually complete enormous group

with BOB-winners from as many as 53 breeds. All in all 2 252 dogs belonged to this group,

i.e. more than 20 % of the total entry at this show.

Thus it was a great honour, indeed, that Ross was one of the eight to make the final cut in the group,

and he was the only one of all the Schnauzer-Pinscher breeds to do so.

The winner of the group, the Newfoundland, later won Best In Show, judged by Hans Lehtinen.

*Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal is now the proud sire of two British Champions, the first ones ever sired by a Scandiavian bred Whippet:

the bitch Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina JW ex. Nevedith Foxtrot Flair at Tonmawr, bred & owned by Mr P. Jones,

Just a short Update to let you know that I'm still alive, and so are all our dogs!

This last month has been quite crazy for me by twice going to the US and once to England,

and tomorrow I'm off to Norway to judge at a Terrier Specialty Saturday, after which I fly

to the Europe Show in Helsinki to show my Affenpinscher on Sunday!

In California I had exciting judging appointments at the Hound Classic and at the Shoreline Dog Fanciers Ass.
In England I judged more than 200 Whippets at the Southern Counties Championship show.

In between all this I have managed to show "Ross", the Affenpinscher, at three All Breed shows in Sweden,

every time with BOB, followed by one Group II, one Group IV and one Group V placement.

And two new members have joined the Airescot household, two Affenpinscher bitch puppies!

One is an import from Norway, Schnaffentangens Gimmi Gimmi, the other one is a daughter of Ross

At home for a short week before returning to the US, this time for a judging appointment in California.

The Whippet National iu´Boston was another lovely happening. I wept of joy when seeing "Rory",

Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest, in super condition for his almost 12 years, winning the Veteran Sweepstakes

beating all the other veterans, males and bitches, of all ages over 7 years.

In the regular classes Bo Bengtson awarded him one of the ten much coveted Select Awards. Fantastic!

*From Lillemor Böös I have just received two pictures of our Affenpinscher Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim

winning the Group at the Swedish KC Easter show in Stockholm and of his 2nd in Group-win at the SKC show in Västerås.

Already a month since last Update, and the good news below will be very short as I must pack my suitcase before leaving

tomorrow morning for the American Whippet Club National Specialty in Boston.

*A couple of weeks ago at the Hound Ass. of Scotland Championship Show

Reserve Best Puppy in Show, i.e. second best puppy, was Mary Pascoe and June Minns' whippet bitch

Juneric Midnight Magic by Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Oakbark Mystical Pride.

*This evening I just received good news from Hungary. At the International show in Budapest today

the young male Airescot Madison Avenue (Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman ex. Allsatin Swedish Love Affair)

won BOB from Junior Class. His proud owner is Zita Bretka, who now also owns the bitch puppy

Airescot Miracle Fusion from our latest litter.

*At the Norwegian KC International show in Harstad this weekend

Airescot Snowstorm (Airescot Gold Fever ex. Paper Moon's Panache), now just over two years old,  won the qualifying CC

for his Norwegian title and was second best male. He is owned by Inger-Lise Lindmark in Norway.

At the same show Airescot Royal Rose (Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion)

won the bitch CC, CACIB and BOS. She is owned by UllaBritta Ideryd, Sweden.

Judge was Whippet Specialist Lynne Lee, Australia.

*And finally today I must report on two more lovely wins for our Affenpinscher Ch Yarrow's Jungle Jim, "Ross".

Last weekend at the Swedish KC International Easter Show in Stockholm he was BOB, judged by Kenneth Edh,

and then won his huge Group, judged by Guido Vandoni, Italy.

And today, at the Swedish KC National show at Västerås, he was again BOB,

this time judged by Rony Doedijns, Netherlands. In the big ring Miklos Levente from Hungary

placed him second in Group.

March 23

*Taksi's puppies have now started leaving the nest, all except one are staying in Sweden this time.

All three males are entire.

*Kristina Jerlin with handler Susanne Andreasson have had a few busy weekends with
Kristina's ´Norwich Terrier bitch Swedish champion Airescot Joy Bells
adding the Danish and Norwegian titles to her Swedish one, both times with CACIB,

so she must now be qualified for her International title.

"Lycka" was also shown at Crufts, where she was second in Open Class.

Swedish and Danish Ch Airescot Charles Dickens, owned by Lena Key,

is now also a Norwegian champion.

*Our Affenpinscher American & Swedish Champion Yarrow's Jungle Jim, "Ross",

is already the proud sire of two litters in Sweden.

Four bitch puppies in the first litter, one male and two bitches in the second litter.

March 5

Time is melting away fast, but not the snow! We are very fed up with the Swedish Winter by now,

but the puppies enjoy it, even if allowed to do so only for a short while now and then.

Today Ch Airescot Red Redee and her litter brothers and sister are 10 years old!

We had intended to celebrate the event by inviting all owners of Whippets

with Redee in their pedigree (and they are quite a few!) to an Open House,

but considering the hard Winter road conditions in Sweden at present,

we have decided to postpone the Open House until later this Spring,

possibly in connection with Beatrix' 11 years birthday in March
or Chess' 5 years birthday in April.

Redee sends her love to all her offspring around the world.

A sensational start to the new year for the Airescots with a new dog of a new breed!

Our Affenpinscher, American and  now also Swedish champion Yarrow's Jungle Jim, "Ross",

recently imported from the US, made his debut at the two All Breed Shows in Gothenburg, Sweden, January 5-8

by twice winning his enormous Group in hard competition and ending up with a BIS-3 and BIS-4 resp.

*We have just received pictures from Finland - two of "Bimbo", the Norwich Terrier

Back from an unbelievably successful weekend in Helsinki, where the Finnish Kennel Club

held two one day International All Breeds shows with almost 8 000 entries each day.

*In Norwich Terriers we had entered our Ch Airescot Jumping For Joy, already qualified for his

International Champion title but still failing his Finnish title. Day 1 Norwich Terriers were judged

by Paul Stanton, Sweden. "Bimbo" was second best male, beaten only by a Finnish champion,

which meant that Bimbo gained the CC and so added the Finnish title to his previous ones.

Day 2 Marja Salminen, Porrigito Norfolk & Norwich Terriers, judged the breed

and found her BOB- winner in "Bimbo".

*In Whippets our success was even more spectacular. Straight from her great win in Stockholm

the previous weekend our Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick managed to add another two BOB's

with CACIBs followed by a Group 2 and a Group 3! She only needed one Finnish CACIB

to qualify for her International Champion title.

BOS to Broomstick day 1 was the young male C'mere Ensi-lita (Ch Leyendas Spongebobsquarepants ex. C'mere Buzzard),.

Day 2 the BOS-winner was the Norwegian Multi Ch Suna Regens Blossoms Keyzer

(Ch Play Mec Du Manoir De La Grenouille ex. Ch Ronndal Ooozing Style).

Breed judges for the ca 60 Whippets per day were both Whippet Specialists:

Marie-Christine Delabelle, di Mahana Whippets, Belgium and Unto Timmonen, Woodbrook Whippets, Finland.

Group judge day 1 was Unto Timmonen, day 2 Marie-Christine Delabelle.

Great news from the Stockholm International Show this past weekend with a record entry of almost 8 000 dogs.

*Saturday litter sister and brother Ch Airescot Joy-Bells and Ch Airescot Jumping For Joy

(Multi Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only ex. Airescot Such Is Life) were BOB and BOS Norwich Terriers.

Sandra Goose Allen, USA, had an entry of 24 Norwich Terriers

and also judged the Terrier Group, where she kept Joy-Bells among the last 10.

Joy-Bells is owned by Kristina Jerlin and trimmed and handled by Susanne Andreasson.

Sadly enough no pictures were taken.

*Sunday Whippets were judged by Göran Bodegård, Sweden (38 males) and

Jean-Luis Grunheid, France (47 bitches plus BOB).

M. Grunheid found his BOB-winner in our Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick

(Multi Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Can Int Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber).

Broomstick was later No. 4 in the Sighthound Group, judged by John Reeve-Newson, Canada.

BOS-winning Whippet was Ch Adagio No Regrets (Multi Ch Adagio Love Supreme ex. Ch Fennaur Emmeline Pankhurst).

*The final piece of good news today is that "Taksi", Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All,

The litter is expected  mid January 2006.

December 8

From England we have just heard that another puppy from Bob Fest's litter in Ireland ex. Collooney Mamma Mia
was No. 2 of 25 in a Minor Puppy Bitch class at the Whippet Club of Wales Championship show last weekend.

Her name is  Mossbawnhill She's Electric at Salatini. Just like her litter brother Better Man, reported on below,

she is now qualified for Crufts 2006.

November 21

More good news from England!

Yesterday at The National Whippet Association Championship show

two British bred daughters by Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal had a wonderful day.

Oakbark Mystery Romance at Brownsover (ex. Ch Oakbark Mystical Pride) won the bitch CC (her first) and Best In Show

 while Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina JW (ex. Nevedith Foxtrot Flair at Tonmawr), already the winner of two CC's,

won the Res. CC and also Res. Best In Show. Some 220 Whippets were entered, of which 140 were bitches.

Dogs were judged by Mrs. J. Beckett, bitches by Molly Head (Demerlay).

Referee for Best In Show was Mary Lowe (Nimrodel).

At the same show the 6 months old dog puppy Mossbawnhill Better Man

by Ch Airescot Bob Fest ex. Collooney Mamma Mia won the Puppy class of 14.

Congratulations to all breeders and owners  of these Whippets!

At the Swedish KC International show in Växjö last weekend the Airescots had some nice wins.

*In Whippets  puppies were judged by Arne Foss, Norway, the grown ups by Stephen Wheeler.

Airescot Primetime (Ch Carmodey Prima di Tutto x Ch Airescot Serene Silver)
was BOB Puppy of six. Proud owners are Johanna Roos and David Sehlberg.

Nr. 1 with CK in Junior class bitches was our Airescot Barlake Broomie
(Ch Airescot Bob Fest x Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick) and
second best of 38 bitches with CACIB was our Ch Collooney Winner Takes It All
(Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal x Ch Collooney Silver Silas).
Airescot was also the BOB-winning Breeder's group of three.
 

BOB Whippet was Michael Vikström's veteran bitch Int Ch Twyborn Swanley Gem.

*In Norwich Terriers Airescot Charles Dickens
(Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only ex. Ch Fairewood Felicitations)
won his qualifying CC, CACIB and 2nd Best Dog.
He is now Swedish and Danish champion and is proudly owned by Lena Key.

BOS with CACIB was Kristina Jerlin's Ch Airescot Joy Bells

(Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only x Airescot Such Is Life).
So far this year she is Sweden's Top Winning Norwich Terrier bitch.

Norwich Terriers were judged by Paula Heikkinen, Finland and her BOB-winner

was Int Ch Red Timber's Barnaby, owned by Betty and Björn Kristiansen, Norway.

October 20

*Sad news in Sweden: Ch Oakbark Mercia has died, almost 12 years old.
She had cancer but lived happily and without suffering until the very last days.
For those who knew her, she will be remembered for her sweet personality.

 In the breed she will be remembered mainly through her first litter
by Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist, from which all five puppies became champions
in different parts of the world and have produced important progeny for many generations.

won her second British CC, this time at Driffield All Breeds Championship show.

*Good news also from the Sobresalto Whippets in Italy.

Ch Airescot Gold Field (Ch Statuesque Extortion ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber),
 has now returned to his owner Sharon Sakson in the US as International Champion
after a couple of years with the Sobresaltos, where he has been shown all over Europe and sired many litters.
We are very proud that he has produced so many top winning Whippets, not only for the Sobresaltos.
His young half sister, Airescot Justina Casagli (Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest ex. Beatrix)
is already the dam of a successful litter for the Sobresaltos and will continue her show career
as a more mature young lady.

July 15

14 consecutive days of hot Summer weather is very unusual for Sweden.

We have many good things to report, but will make it very short.

*Our two litters are thriving and spending most of the days outdoors. The three Mitford Norwich sisters are now six weeks old.

Pictures from yesterday can be seen if you go to Norwich/breeding. The Whippet boys are now four weeks old,

but we won't take pictures until next week, when they hopefully will be more keen to get stacked.

*The first weekend of July was very successful for Whippet litter sister and brother Airescot Refined Ruby and Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal.

Refined Ruby, "Hera", won the bitch CC,  CACIB, BOB and Group III at the SKK International All Breeds show, Gotland,

while Rascal won his 9th British CC and BOB at Windsor Championship show. He was also shortlisted in the group.

Congratulations to their owners Karin Lind and June Minns resp.

*And last weekend at the National and International SKK shows at Tvååker, Sweden

our Whippet bitch Collooney Winner Takes It All, now old enough to gain her Swedish title,

won her qualifying CC, making her a Swedish and Danish champion.

21 Norwich Terriers were judged by Lesley Crawley, Ragus Norwich and Norfolk Terriers, England,

and we were very proud that she chose litter sister and brother Ch Airescot Joy Bells and Ch Airescot Jumping For Joy

to her BOB and BOS. Joy Bells was also placed Group IV in the finals. Together with their half sister and

brother N Ch Airescot Ada Lovelace and Airescot Charles Dickens, winner of two CC's,

they formed a much admired Breeder's group. The following day Ada Lovelace won the bitch CC,

which added the Swedish title to her earlier gained Danish and Norwegian titles.

*The same weekend, at another SKK All Breeds show in Alfta, Sweden, Marie Magnusson's
Airescot Royal Romance, Tracy, won the bitch CC and BOS from Junior Class.

She was handled by Marie's mother Allette as Marie was busy giving birth
to her first born son! Congratulations to these great events!

Of the 26 competing Whippet bitches at this show second best was Jeanette and Peter Lundblad's

Airescot Jenny Lind (Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber),

and fifth best bitch was Airescot Olympic Fest (also by Jazz Fest but ex. Ch A. Royal Occasion).
She is co-owned by Airescot and Allette Boos.
 

*And finally today we can reveal that he has now arrived,

our American white & black import Whippet male Sportingfield B&W Airescot, "Beo",

born 23 April 2004, by Ch Sportingfield Hot Topic ex. Albelarm Delight,

bred, of course, by Debbie Butt. "Beo" is co-owned by Airescot and Elisabet Levén.

At the Eurodog 2005, the European All Breeds International show, this year held in Austria,
"Lycka" was second best of 21 Norwich Terrier bitches, winning res. CAC and res. CACIB,

and this weekend at the SKK International All Breeds show in Vänersborg
"Lycka" won the CC, her Swedish champion title, CACIB and BOS, as always handled by Susanne Andreasson
for her proud owner Kristina Jerlin.

and the Norwich Terrier male Airescot Charles Dickens (Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only ex. Ch Fairewood Felicitations)

won his second CC and was second best male at the SKK National show in Norrköping.

*In England Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal won his seventh CC and BOS for his owner June Minns

Lots of good news!

*Our Norwich Terrier Bitch Airescot Such Is Life is definitely in whelp.

Back home from a third successful weekend, this time in Norway, where it was great fun to meet with old friends
at the yearly "Fellesutstilling", the two Sighthound shows arranged by the Norwegian Sighthound Club
and the Norwegian Greyhound Club. This year they had a record entry of 73 Whippets,
more than ever before in Norway. The judge for Whippets at the Sighthound Club show

was Marie-Christine Delabelle, DiMahana Whippets, Belgium.
The following day Denise Courtney, England, judged the Whippets.

*For BOB Mrs. Delabelle chose our 9 year-old Int Ch Airescot Red Redee, second Best Bitch

was Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick. In the final ring Redee ended up BIS-3.
She was also BIS-2 Veteran, and the Airescot Breeder's group was BIS.

 Monica Presthus' picture below shows Mrs. Delabelle with Redee
and the BOS-winning Norwegian bred Ch Suna Regens Blossoms Keyzer.

*The following day Mrs. Courtney chose our Collooney Winner Takes It All for Best Bitch with CC,
Redee was 2nd Best Bitch and Broomstick was 3rd Best Bitch! Best Male and BOB this day

was Norwegian bred Librium's Wild Thing. He was also Mrs. Courtney's choice for BIS in the afternoon.
BIS Veteran Sunday was Airescot Red Redee, pictured below by Svein Baret.

 So all in all a fantastic weekend for the Airescots.

*But we have more things to brag about. At a Swedish Terrier Club Specialty outside Stockholm

our Norwich Terrier Airescot Jumping For Joy won his qualifying CC and BOB, handled by Sven Eklöf.
This was "Bimbo's" 5th CC in Sweden, but as he celebrated his second birthday only a couple of weeks ago
this was the CC, which qualified him for the Swedish title. He is now also a Danish and Norwegian champion,

thanks to CC's gained earlier in Denmark and Norway.

*And finally at the Swedish KC International All Breeds show in Piteå

UllaBritta Ideryds 8 months old Airescot Royal Rose, "Zaffran"
(Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion)
was BIS-3 Puppy. Congratulations to them!

May 9

*Another successful show for "Taksi", Collooney Winner Takes It All,

winning her third Swedish CC and BOS at the Swedísh KC All Breeds show in Skara,

judged by Ove Germundson, Sweden. Taksi has still one month to go, though, before she is old enough

to win her qualifying Swedish CC, which will at the same time make her a Danish champion.
 

*When Chess' puppies were 7 weeks old Lena and Peter Hjalmarsson were here again
to take some new pictures, which can be seen on Chess' page.

*Peter also took some very nice pictures of Broomie, Airescot Brilliant Broomstick, now 3½ years old,
and Redee, Airescot Red Redee, now 9 years old. Go to their pages and compare the pictures taken
of them as youngsters - interesting to see how they have matured.

Just back home from a successful weekend in Denmark and the Danish KC International show in Copenhagen.

*Our Norwich Terrier male Airescot Jumping For Joy (Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only ex. Airescot Such Is Life)
 won CC, CACIB and BOB, judged by David Anderson, Ireland.
*Whippets were judged by Hans van der Berg, Holland. BOB Puppy was our now almost 9 months old
bitch Airescot Barlake Broomie (Ch Airescot Bob Fest ex. Ch Airescot Brillian Broomstick).
She was later BIS-2 Puppy All Breeds, judged by Liz Cartledge, England.
Our Irish bitch Collooney Winner Takes It All, "Taksi" (Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. Ch Collooney Silver Silas),
won BOB with CC and CACIB. BOS was another Irish import to Scandinavia, Ch Barnesmore Pony Soljer
(Ch Barnesmore Sweet Talking Guy ex. Ch Barnesmore Black Orchid).

Hans van der Berg also chose "Taksi" to his winner of the Sighthound Group,
and in the BIS-final she was placed No. 5 of the ten Group Winners,
judged by Hassi Assenmacher-Feyel, Germany.

Today we have news about a sensational planned Whippet litter,
plus brags about a couple of nice wins  for Airescot Whippets in the show ring and at LC.

*17 April Allsatin Swedish Love Affair, Imp. Greece,
 was bred to the now deceased US Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman by means of A.I. from frozen semen,

which we have kept stored in Norway since the early 90's.

*At the Norwegian KC International All Breeds Show in Harstad 16-17 April

Airescot Snowstorm (Airescot Gold Fever x Paper Moon's Panache) at only 16 months
won BOB and the Sighthound Group judged by Hans van der Berg, Holland.

Snowstorm is owned by Inger-Lise Lindmark, Norway, and was, as always, handled by Finn-Arne Haugli.

*At an LC competition in Kungsbacka, Sweden, 17 April Airescot Sporting Fest
(Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion) was Second Best of 25 competing
Whippets. He was Best Male and CC-winner. Proud owner is Pernilla Åhs.

Today it's five weeks since Chess, Ch Airescot Serene Silver, was bred to Ch Carmodey Prima di Tutto,
and she declares herself definitely in whelp. This is quite an unusual combination of blood lines,

and we look forward to a very interesting litter with some lovely puppies.

They should be born late in March and be ready for delivery by the end of May.

Some good puppy news from England, Norway, Denmark and Sweden.

*In England two bitch puppies by Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal have again been very successful.

At the National Whippet Open Show Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina ex. Nevedith Foxtrot Flair at Tonmawr
was second Best Bitch in Show and gained her qualifying point for the much coveted Junior Warrant title.

At the Whippet Club of Wales Open Show Oakbark Magical Cracker ex. Ch Oakbark Mystical Pride

was Best In Show.

*In Norway Airescot Rare Rascal, "Tobias", from Royal Occasion's litter by Ruby Rascal

has made his show debut in Trondheim winning BOB Puppy and Group 2.

He's owned by Arne Foss and Hilde Stenstad.

*In Denmark Rudi Brandt's now just over 6 months old Airescot Baffinbay Bobbie

(Ch Airescot Bob Fest ex. Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick)

was Best Baby In Show at a Danish Sighthound Club Specialty.

*And in Sweden his litter sister Airescot Barlake Broomie, owned by the Airescots,

had a good show debut by winning BIS-2 Puppy at an All Breeds Puppy Show outside Stockholm.

Now all the lists of Sweden's top winning Whippets in various categories have been published.
The Aírescots are very pleased to find themselves well represented on all the lists.
For some reason it's generally believed that we are not really interested in anything but showing,
but, on the contrary, we greatly encourage also Whippets bred by us to take part in various sports.

*On the show list Ch Airescot Bob Fest, owned by Elisabet Levén, was second Best Male
with 198 points, beaten for Best Male with only four points.

Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion, owned by Birgitta and Sven-Göran Linderoth was 4th Best Male.

8th Best Bitch was our Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick, in spite of having reared a litter during the year,
and 9th Best Bitch was our young Collooney Winner Takes It All,
who also won the coveted special prize for Best Debutante of the year.

*Among the top winning Veterans Airescot Cello was 2nd Best Male, Ch Airescot Requiem was

on a devided 3rd place and Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist on a devided 8th place.

Among the top winning Veteran bitches Airescot Red Redee was 5th.

*In spite of our own limited showing during 2004, but thanks to the many keen owners of Airescot Whippets,

Airescot was second Best Breeder of the year, Ch Statuesque Extortion was 2nd Best Stud Dog,
with Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal on 4th place and Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest on 7th place.

Among the brood bitches Ch Airescot Royal Occasion was 4th, Ch Airescot Bonnie Maid 5th
and Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber 7th.

*We are even more impressed, though, with our achievements on the field.

Who would have believed that the top winning stud dog for LC Whippets would be Ch Statuesque Extortion
with Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest on a close second place and Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal coming in as number 8

of the 58 stud dogs represented?

And of the 68 LC brood bitches Ch Airescot Royal Occasion holds a devided 2nd place

with Ch Airescot Bonnie Maid on a devided 9th place.

Even more surprising: Airescot was 3rd Top Winning Breeder of LC Whippets!
Among the Top Winning LC Whippets of both sexes Jeannette and Peter Lindblad's

bitches Airescot Scented Silver and Airescot Jenny Lind were placed 9th and 10th resp.

*Finally we must brag of the remarkable Veteran male Ch Airescot Red Rum, owned by Håkan Lagerström,

Oakshaw Whippets. Red Rum is a litter brother of Red Redee and of the recently deceased Red Rooster.
During 2004 Red Rum not only gained the prestigious Triple Prize with merits from five various sports,

but he was also placed 5th on the Whippet Race list, having run only five times.

Sad news from kennel Brinagar in Argentina that their "Red", Int Ch Airescot Red Rooster,
has just died, 9 years old. A litter brother to our own Int Ch Red Redee he seems to have been the same great character
as all his sisters and brothers, by Int Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist ex. Ch Oakbark Mercia.

As late as in November 2004 Red was res. BIS Veteran at a show in Argentina.

Apart from his own success in the rings he has produced some very useful progeny.

He was very much loved and will be greatly missed.

December 29

These days, when we follow the development of the catastrophy in south east Asia by the hour,

we find our doggy life utterly insignificant.

But our lives must go on and we would like to thank all of you, who have been into our website during 2004,

for your interest in our dogs. We'll also take this opportunity to wish you all

A HAPPY and SUCCESSFUL NEW YEAR!

The final show for us during 2004 was the Stockholm Int, where we for the first time in many years
had a Norwich Terrier Breeder's group entered, consisting of four half sisters and brothers

by Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only.

Our own Airescot Jumping For Joy was shown for the 5th time in his young life and won his 5th CC
from Youth Class and was second Best Male. His litter sister A. Joy-Bells, owned by Kristina Jerlin,

won her 4th CC and was BOS with CACIB. Their half sister Ch A. Ada-Lovelace,

presented by her Norwegian co-owner Lene Weum, was second Best Bitch,

and her litter brother A. Charles Dickens, owned by Lena Kay,  was 5th Best Male.

Swedish Specialist judge Charlott Sandberg had a good entry of 20 Norwich Terriers
and her critique of our breeder's group should be framed and hang on the wall.
She is shown below handing out the price of honour to the group.

(Nenne's confession: I can still not get used to the undocked tails!)

We just received a mail from Asta Simonelyte in Lithuania,

proudly reporting on the debut yesterday of her Whippet Puppy Airescot Bridgewater Bobbie
at a Championship show for all breeds in Vilnius, Latvia.
"Scottie", as he is called, was BOB Whippet Puppy but also BIS Puppy
in hard competition with 30 BOB Puppies of different breeds.

We feel very ashamed of our poor Updating as far as our Norwich Terriers are concerned.
At last our youngster Airescot Jumping For Joy has been given his own page on this site,
where you can see his picture and a report on his achievements in the rings so far.
Both his litter sister Airescot Joy Bells and his half sister and brother
Ch Airescot Ada Lovelace and Airescot Charles Dickens have done well in the rings
but never been written about here. The same concerns their half brother S N Ch Airescot Survivor.
Shame on us!

*At the Swedish Kennel Club International All Breeds Show in Sundsvall yesterday

the Airescots had no reason to complain.

Our Irish girl Collooney Winner Takes It All, "Taksi", won the bitch CC, her first CACIB and BOB from youth class.

Ch Airescot Bob Fest was BOS. He has already gained the qualifying CACIB for his International title,

so hopefully this CACIB will go on to the reserve CACIB-winner, the Norwegian bred and owned
son of Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal, Ch Courtbourne Ramazotti.

Second best bitch from Veteran class was our Int Ch Airescot Red Redee, nearly 9 years old
and grandddam of "Taksi" as well as of Bob Fest and Ramazotti.

The breed was judged by Diane Anderson, USA, and I'm sure she was pleased to see Espen Engh, Norway,

place her young BOB-winning Whippet 3rd in the Sighthound Group and to see Nils Molin, Sweden,

make Red Redee BIS-2 Veteran.

*Safely back from my exciting trip to the Netherlands and the US
we took pictures today of Broomie's puppies at just over 7 weeks.

*The first stacked pictures of Ocki's puppies will hopefully appear in a week or so.

*Sorry, but there will be no individual pictures of Broomie's puppies this week, nor next week,
as I'm just off to the Netherlands for a judging appointment and then on to the US and the Montgomery weekend.
We have had a disgusting weather in Sweden with lots of rain, but in between the showers we managed to take a few

*A nice day yesterday at the Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty in Högbo
for the youngest and the oldest members of the Airescot family.
"Taxi", Collooney Winner Takes It All, was BOB Junior, judged by David Allan, Spain.
and then BIS Junior, judged by Per Lundström, Sweden.
"Redee", Ch Airescot Red Redee, soon 9 years old, was third best bitch, BOB Veteran
and then BIS-2 Veteran, all the way through judged by David Allan.

*Good news from England. At the City of Birmingham Championship show Friday September 3
Per Iversen, Norway, gave the res. CC to Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal.  CC-winner was Irish Ch Barnesmore Pony Soljer.
Best of Breed Puppy was Rascal's daughter Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina.
She was later second in the big Puppy Hound Group.

Again another month has passed.
From the famous "Skokloster Summer Shows" I have not much to report
as, for the first time in the almost 30 years these shows have been held, I wasn't there.
 I had been invited to an important wedding (not my own!) and thus instead spent that weekend in the US.
Elisabet Levén was there, though, and showed her Afghans at their Breed Specialty on the Saturday,
and took her Ch Airescot Bob Fest only to the Sighthound Specialty on the Sunday,
where he was BOS to the BIS-winning young bitch from the Whippet Breed Specialty Saturday Adagio The Way You Dream.

*Bob Fest had another successful day at the Norwegian KC show in Oslo August 14,
where he was BOB, judged by Lotta Bruhn, Norway, and won his qualifying CACIB for his International title.

*When Bob was enjoying himself in Norway Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick was hard at work giving birth to his puppies,
also with great success. To see pictures of the four males and two bitches and their pedigree go to Broomstick's page.

*At the SKK All Breeds Show in Norrköping August 15th Allette Boos handled Airescot Wintergarden
(Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist ex. Ch Airescot Serene Silver) to another BOB Puppy
followed by BIS 3 Puppy of all breeds.

*Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest certainly seems to inherit his great Lure Coursing skills.
Last weekend at an LC Trial in Sweden two of his offspring won both Whippet CC:s,
his daughter Airescot Ski Fest ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion and his son Hot Isle Gandalf, ex. Hot Isle Daughter of Darkness.
Ski Fest was also Best In Field.

*From England we had the good news from the Championship Show in Bournemouth Monday
that Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal won his sixth CC and also BOB, judged by Paul Jones, Tonmawr Whippets.
Rascal was shortlisted in the group, and again a bunch of his puppies ex. various bitches
either won their classes or were well placed. One of the winners was the male Lotsmoor Wizard,
which also won the Puppy Stakes at the Hound Association 31 July, in strong competition with 105 Hound puppies!

*Sad news from Magnus Hagstedt that Ch Airescot Fandango has died, almost 13 years old.
By Ch Airescot Waistcoat ex. Ch Merci Isle Whisper To A Purr "Jeff" has been a most successful stud dog,
from only 8 litters siring 40 puppies, 25 of which have won CC:s and 15 are champions.

*Finally today we're happy to report that Ch Airescot Royal Occasion has just been declared in whelp
to Ruby Rascal. For details and pedigree go to "Ocki"'s page.

Another month almost gone since last update. Quite frightening how time flies, especially this time of the year
when we are hoping for a neverending Summer in Sweden.

*We have spent a few, as always enjoyable, days in Visby on the beautiful Swedish island Gotland,
where two full All Breeds shows are held the first weekend in July every year,
one International show and one National. This time I brought with me two co-owned Whippets which don't live with me ,
Airescot Gold Fever and Airescot Spectacular Sapphire, and we were very pleased with the results.
Gold Fever was third best male at the first show, at the second show he was second best male with CC .
Best male both days was Ch Airescot Bob Fest.
A. Spectacular Sapphire, "Claudia", won the CACIB and was second best bitch day one,
and the following day she won the qualifying CC for her Swedish title and was again second best bitch.
Day one BOB and Group 2 went to Wolftone Hannah from junior class.
Day two Ch Cybri's Santa Carolina won BOB and Group 4.
The judges were Kari Salminen, Finland and Nina Karlsdotter, Sweden. resp.
*The following weekend we went to another Swedish Kennel Club All Breeds show, this time at Alfta,
situated a couple of hours drive north of Stockholm. Stephen Wheeler, who is now living in Sweden,
judged the Whippets, and his excellent ring procedure and pleasant manners in the ring was much appreciated
by all the exhibitors. We had brought with us a veteran, Ch Airescot Red Redee, now 8½ years old,
and a junior, our Irish bitch Collooney Winner Takes It All. Redee enjoyed her outing immensly,
moved and showed like a youngster and was second best bitch and best veteran. Winner Takes It All,
now called "Taxi", won her class and was fourth best bitch. But it was a good day for several Airescots
as Airescot Silver Scallywag, litter brother to Ch Serene Silver, owned and handled by Elisabeth Magnusson
was second best dog, and Airescot Gold Fever, co-owned and handled by Allette Boos, was third best dog.
Third best bitch was Airescot Olympic Fest, litter sister to Bob Fest, also co-owned and handled by Allette Boos,
who handled our bitch puppy Airescot Wintergarden (Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist ex. Ch A. Serene Silver) to BOB Puppy.

BOB and winning her qualifying CC was Gårdsjöns Källa (Ch Khalibadh Regnbåge x Ch Gårdsjöns Ingegerd).
BOS with CC was Samantha's Soul To Soul (Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion x Samanta's Stylist).
Airescot had a Breeder's Group at this show, which was placed fourth in the finals,
where Red Redee won BIS-3 Veteran and the Puppy was BIS Puppy, so all in all a very nice day for the Airescots.

*In England Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal has only been shown a few times so far this year but has won another two res. CC:s.
Quite a few puppies by Rascal are now shown in the British rings and doing very well. At Windsor Championship show e.g.
 puppies from six different litters by Rascal either won or were highly placed in their classes. One of them was the 7 months old bitch

*As for our import from the US of "Dream", Ch Sporting Fields Priceless, it unfortunately proved to be
a dream not to come true. Due to some disagreement between her many co-breeders and co-owners in the US
the plan to have her sent to Scandinavia could not be realized.
A great shame as Whippet fanciers in our part of the world would have enjoyed the sight of this beautiful black bitch.

June 21
Two fantastic weekends for the Airescot Whippets in Sweden,
One of our rare appearances in the Norwich ring was also successful.

At the Swedish KC All Breeds Show in Vänersborg June 13
Ch Airescot Bob Fest was BOS and Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick BOB and Group III.
Nils Molin, Sweden, judged the breed. Group judge was Harto Stockmari, Finland.

At the Swedish KC All Breeds International Show in Avesta June 21
Gunnel Eksvärd's Airescot Brilliant Bistro (litter brother to Broomstick)
won his qualifying third CC. Airescot Olympic Fest (litter sister to Bob Fest)
co-owned by Allette Boos and the Airescots, won her first CC.
Ch Airescot Brilliant Broomstick was BOS with CACIB,
and Ch Airescot Bob Fest was BOB with CACIB and ended up by winning 
the Sighthound Group, as always skilfully handled by his owner Elisabet Levén.
Both breed and group were judged by Annika Ulltveit-Moe, Sweden.

Our Norwich Terrier Norwegian Champion Airescot Survivor
(Ch Wesaborgs Pumba ex. Ch Fairewood Felicitations)
now owned by Carin Eliasson, Sweden, hasn't been shown in Sweden
after his second birthday, so needed another Swedish CC to gain his Swedish title.
At Avesta International he not only managed to win the CC he was hoping for, 
trimmed and handled by Petter Fodstad,
he even won BOB with CACIB, judged by Liz Cartledge, GB.

June 3
Another month has passed and there is so much to report on
that I hardly know where to start.
*In eight days Airescot Brilliant Broomstick managed to gain
her Swedish, Norwegian and Estonian titles. At the Estonian KC International show 
in Tallinn Broomstick and Ch Airescot Bob Fest won the CC's, CACIB's,
BOB and BOS. For more information go to Broomstick's page.

*Last weekend the Norwegian Sighthound Club held their main Specialties of the year 
at Sundvollen near Oslo. Jarmo Vuorinen from Finland, Scheiks Whippets,
found his BOB Whippet in the young bitch Linrow's Gay Epiphany,
owned by her breeders Fred Hallin and Preben Rossow.
She is sired by Ch Airescot Silver Sterling (litter brother to "Chess", Ch A. Serene Silver)
ex. Ch Linrow's Apricot Lady, granddaughter of Ch Airescot Red Robin 
and Ch Airescot Teenager.
A son of "Chess" from her recent litter by Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist, Airescot Wintertide,

*A few weeks earlier Wintergarden and Wintertale,  litter sister and brother to Wintertide,  
made their debuts at an unofficial show in Malung, Sweden, 
where Wintertale was Best Puppy in Show.

*Good news from Italy, where Ch Airescot Gold Field won BOB, CACIB and Group II
at the International All Breeds Show in Naples.

*Also last weekend the Swedish litter sister and brother Hot Isle Goodness Gracious
and Great Gandalf again made their sire Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest proud
by winning both CC's at a Lure Coursing trial at Klöfta in Norway.

Now back home again from the American Whippet Club National Specialty,
where I during four days followed Espen Engh's excellent judging of the regular classes,
to which a record number of more than 800 Whippets were entered. 
 I saw some lovely dogs, met with old friends, and made new ones.

This past weekend made us proud of our progeny both in England and Sweden.
*At the Northern Counties Whippet Club show in England
a litter sister to our Irish sisters by Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal, Collooney Chiquita,
owned by her breeder Viv Coulter, won Best Puppy In Show of 58 puppies.
Second to Chiquita in her class was another Rascal daughter,
Chrispan Dancing Queen at Hutaka, reported on with picture in my Updates below
of February 18.

Best In Show of the grown-ups was Ch Spyanfly Say It's Bardot.
Reserve BIS and the dog CC went to Elvencharm Zola at Turnstone 
Dogs were judged by Angela Randall (Hammonds), bitches by Mrs. E. Yacoby (Cobyco).

*In Sweden at a National Lure Coursing Trial as many as 39 Whippets 
were entered, of which only three were absent.
Even if we seldom seem to find the time to practise this sport ourselves, we are very proud 
to breed or otherwise be involved with dogs, which are successful in the field.

Of the 17 best placed Whippets 9 were bred by Airescot or sired by dogs we have bred or owned: 
Ch Statuesque Extortion, his sons Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal and Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion
 or Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest.

Winner with CC was Hot Isle Goodness Gracious first time out, only 16 months old.
She is by Jazz Fest, bred by Annika Janson ex. her Hot Isle Daughter of Darkness.
Second, also with CC, was another bitch, Airescot Scented Silver,  
by Extortion ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion and owned by Jeannette Lindblad.
Number 4 was Adagio Magic Love by Sapphire Stallion ex. Ch Flic Flac Kiss Of Love.
Number 7 and 8 were both by Rascal: Hound's Ruby Tuesday ex. Gazolin Krokett 
and Hot Isle Extreme Empress ex. Hot Isle Bisquit resp.
Number 10 was a litter brother of the winner, Hot Isle Great Gandalf.
Number 12 was another Hot Isle bitch, Daughter of Darkness,
by Extortion and dam of the winning bitch Goodness Gracious.
Number 16 was Airescot Sporting Fest by Jazz Fest ex. A. Royal Occasion
and number 17 was Airescot Silver Sensation, a litter brother of 
the CC winner A. Scented Silver.
Congratulations to all these winners and their owners! We are very proud of you!

Another brag is that Statuesque Extortion was not only top stud dog 2003
on the Swedish Whippet Club list of show dogs, but he also topped the list
of stud dogs for LC-winners. 

April 4

Just a few Updates and new pictures before I'm off to the US and the American
Whippet Club National Specialty on Tuesday.

*Yesterday at a Swedish Whippet Club inofficial Breed Specialty in Gnesta
Kristin Hoff, Courtbourne Whippets, Norway, judged some 70 Whippets.
Her BIS-winner was Ch Albicans Hera Karsk, a daughter of Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal.
BOS to her was Ch Hot Isle Depend On Me, a son of Ch Statuesque Extortion.

*From the Sobresalto Whippets in Italy we have heard the good news
that Airescot Justina Casagli (Ch S.F. Jazz Fest ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber)
at 16 months and first time out in Open Class won CAC, CACIB and BOS
at an international show in Eboli.

*From the Smithvale Whippets in South Africa we have the good news
that a daughter of Ch Airescot Emerald Expression (Ch Statuesque Extortion
ex. Ch Airescot Emily Gray) Corandy Jadore of Smithvale, now 18 months old,
has achieved her champion title, and last week she  won the Hound group
and was Res. BIS at the Midlands KC show.

March 23

Over a month since last Update! I knew it was a long time, but not that long.
Coming home from a week in England in connection with Crufts
I had so much work waiting that I have been very pressed for time.
I haven't been to any shows myself since Crufts, 
but I have some nice results to report on.

*Crufts was unusual for me this time as it meant my first judging appointment
at this prestigious event. This year it was Norwich Terriers, 
next year I've been invited to judge Deerhounds...
Sadly enough I missed most of the Whippet judging, but was very pleased to hear
that Rascal, shown by his owner June Minns, had looked good and was placed second 
in the big Open Dog class. To see a ringside picture go to Rascal's page.

An overwhelmingly wonderful day for the breed with Ch Cobyco Call The Tune
winning Best In Show! Congratulations to her happy breeders/owners!

*Elisabet Levén had a lovely weekend at the Swedish KC International show 
in Malmö March 20-21 winning BOB both with her and Madde Thorman's Afghan,  
Ch Exciting Xtravagant Creation, and with her Whippet, Ch Airescot Bob Fest.
Figge, the Afghan, went on to win the Group and BIS-2,
Bob was kindly and well handled to Group 5 by Madde Thorman.

*The same weekend, at an International show in Dublin, Viv Coulter had great success
with her Collooney Whippets winning BOB, CACIB and the Int. Ch title with
 Ch Collooney Silver Jigolo, BOS and CACIB with Collooney Silver Silas
and BOB Puppy with Collooney Fernando.
They then went on to win the Hound Group AND the Puppy Hound Group
to end up BIS-5 and BIS-5 Puppy resp. the following day.
Fernando is the only male in the litter Silver Silas had by A. Ruby Rascal,
and thus a litter brother to our two girls Dancing Queen and Winner Takes It All,
now just over 9 months old.

*All the puppies from our two litters born in December are now happily settled 
in their new homes. In a later Update I'll let you know their names 
and where they have gone, possibly with new pictures.

February 18

Some lovely wins to report on from the latest two weekends:

* Great success for Ruby Rascal's progeny in Sweden, Norway and England.
Last weekend our bitch COLLOONEY WINNER TAKES IT ALL won  Best Puppy In Show 
of some 300 puppies of all breeds, first time out in the show ring.
And this weekend she repeated her success at the Swedish KC International show 
in Gotenburg, winning BIS-2 puppy in huge competition.

In Norway last weekend BOB and BOS went to Ch COURTBOURNE RAWHINS
and AIRESCOT BRILLIANT BARGAIN, both sired by Rascal. 
This CC gave Bargain her Norwegian title.

And, last but not least, yesterday in England Ann Beckett-Bradshaws 7½ months old
CHRISPAN DANCING QUEEN AT HUTAKA won not only Best Puppy In Show 
but also overall Best In Show of 450 Hounds at the Hound Show Open Show.

*This past weekend was also very successful indeed for AIRESCOT BOB FEST
and his owner/handler Elisabet Levén. Bob was two years old February 9th, 
after which date another CC would qualify him for his Swedish and Norwegian titles.
Already February 14th, at the Swedish KC International show in Gothenburg,
he gained this qualifying CC under judge Frank Kane.
The following day, at the Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty in Gothenburg,
Tim Finney, Ireland, gave Bob not only BOB, but also BEST IN SHOW!

Ch AIRESCOT RUBY RASCAL' s 5 CC:s made him second best male in England for 2003,
only beaten by Ch Rivarco Classic Jazz (by Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest), having  won 6 CC:s.
Top winning bitch in England was Ch Spyanfly Say It's Bardo, also with 5 CC:s.

UPDATES 2003

December 31

Just back from a sad visit in England to attend the funeral 
of my dear old friend Cecily Cox of Dufault Deerhounds.
She died peacefully in her sleep December 14, only a few months before we had hoped
to celebrate her 90th birthday at Crufts in March 2004.
Cecily will be greatly missed by many, also in Scandinavia.

This will, of course, be my last update this year, but very soon I'll be back
with new pictures of our two thriving litters, now soon 3 weeks old.

*After a very busy weekend we are very pleased to report that our two pregnant bitches 
decided to whelp almost at the same time and without any problems.
Alice, Paper Moon's Panache, had two boys and four girls December 14th,
Chess, Airescot Serene Silver, had three boys and two girls December 15th.

*Saturday, December 13, Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal, won BOB and Group III
at LKA, as always the year's last big All Breeds Show in England.
Zola Rawson judged the breed. All groups and BIS were judged by Moa Persson, Sweden.

December 10

Saturday, December 6, the Whippet Club of Wales held their Specialty
with Sean O'Brien judging dogs and Zena Thorn-Andrews bitches.
Our special interest in this show was to see puppies  from Ruby Rascal's first
two British bred litters first time out in the show ring. 59 puppies were
entered in the four Puppy classes, and out of the 7 puppies by Rascal 6 were placed. 
We were very pleased to see one of them win BIS Puppy,

Among the grown up whippets the BIS and reserve-BIS-winners were 
a half sister and brother by Ch Fullerton Dream Mover.
The bitch Pipjay Drops of Jupiter won BIS from Junior Class, 
the dog Fullerton Heavenly Mover came from Limit Class. 
Res. CC:s were won by Spinneyhill Camellia and Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal.

November 27

Alice (Paper Moon's Panache) and Chess (Airescot Serene Silver)
are now both declaring themselves pregnant. Both litters are expected mid-December.

 We suddenly  realize that we have let Rascal's great wins in England
totally overshadow his dam's also quite remarkable success
on the two occasions when she was shown in England this Spring,
at WELKS and at the National Whippet Association Championship Show.

November 18

*Last Sunday, at a Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty, the CC:s were given to
Airescot Brilliant Bistro and Albicans Hera Karsk from two of the litters sired
by Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal in Sweden before he went to Canada in December 2001.
A litter sister to Bistro was fourth Best Bitch, and a young son of his was Best Puppy in Show.

October 21

Good news from Italy/Greece and from Australia:

*At the International All Breeds Show in Athens, Greece, October 18th, 2003
Can Ch Airescot Gold Field won CAC, CACIB, BOB, Group I and BIS-2!
As reported earlier "Spencer" is temporarily staying with the Sobresalto Whippets
in Italy and was handled in Athens by Arnaldo Cotagno. Judge was Hans van der Berg.
This was especially exciting as we'll hopefully in December have puppies
by his litter brother Airescot Gold Fever. (See our Update October 19.)

*Their sire "Jason", Ch Statuesque Extortion, at his only outing since BIS
at the last Hound Club show in Australia at Easter-time 2003, was Runner-Up 
Hound of the Year and BOB Whippet at the Hound Club Show October 6th, 2003. 
A daughter of Jason won bitch CC & RUBOB, a son of his won RCC male
and another daughter won RCC bitch. Judge was David Hiltz, USA 
(who gave Jason's son Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal one of his majors in Florida in January).

And at Melbourne Royal, September 23rd, 2003 Jason's son Ch Statuesque Eye Spy
won BOB for the 2nd time at this prestigious show.
Jason has also lately sired litters at the Ronndal kennels in New Zealand
and by frozen semen in the US.

So if anyone thought that Jason was off the map now, 
they were entirely wrong!

October 19

Two of our bitches were mated during the past week,
Paper Moon's Panache and Ch Airescot Serene Silver.

*A very hard decision has been made - Rascal will stay in England.
It would be most selfish of me to break the strong bond  which has been established 
between Rascal and June Minns during his eight months in England.
From now on June Minns is his owner, but he will still be loved by both of us,
and I wish June and Rascal continued happiness and success.

Thursday, August 21, Airescot Spectacular Sapphire ("Claudia") gave birth to a lovely litter
of two males and three bitches by Airescot Bob Fest, a first litter for both sire and dam.

August 3

Another two eventful weekends with lots to report:

*At the Skokloster Summer Shows/Tammsvik July 26-27 a record entry of 254 whippets 
were judged by Margaret Martin (Barnesmore), Northern Irland 
and Shirley Rawlings (Chyton), England.
Just to be placed in this terrific competition is an achievement, and we were very pleased
to have Airescot whippets placed among the top five dogs and bitches both days.
In addition Airescot Bob Fest was Best Youngster and BIS-2 Youngster and 
the Airescots were BOB Breeder's Group and BIS-3 at the Sighthound Specialty, Sunday.

*We are especially proud of Ch Airescot Red Redee winning BOS Senior/Veteran 
both days, and 5th Best Bitch under Shirley Rawlings.
Her litter brother, Airescot Red Rum, won his qualifying CC at the SKK All Breeds Show
at Ransäter that same weekend, and August 3rd he was second in the A2-final
at the Whippet Race SM in Västerås. A great achievement for a 7 year old dog!

*At the Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty, Tammsvik, 26 July
our two year old Deerhound Norwegian Ch Magic Hunter's Nick Rowan won the CC,
his Swedish title and BOB, judged by Jean-Jacque Dupas, France.
Rowan has had a most successful year so far in the Norwegian show rings.
By Ch Airescot Aspects of Love ex. Ch Magic Hunter's Alicia
he was bred by Brit Sörum in Norway and is co-owned by Kirsten Walhovd
(his handler and with whom he lives), Liv Vogt Johansen and Nenne Runsten.

*At the SKK International All Breeds show in Sundsvall 2 August
Airescot Jenny Lind won another Best Puppy In Show.
Breed judge: Conny Byström, Sweden. BIS Puppy judge: Lisbeth Campbell, Norway.
The proud owners, Jeannette and Peter Lindblad, have reason to be proud
also of their bitch Airescot Scented Silver (Ch Statuesque Extortion 
ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion), winning res. CACIL in very hard competition
at the International LC trials at Tammsvik in the beginning of the week.

*Last but not least: at the Hound Show 2003 in England 2 August
Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal won his fifth CC and third BOB.
The 290 entries were judged by Pauline Oliver (Spyanfly), dogs,
and Roma Wright-Smith (Silkstone), bitches.

Since last update many things have happened,
 but I'll keep it short and only mention the highlights:

*In England, at South Wales Kennel Ass. Championship Show July 11, 
Rascal gained his fourth CC, this time judged by Karen Charman (Molecat Whippets).

*At the Swedish KC All Breeds Show in Halmstad July 12
Airescot Serene Silver, "Chess", gained her third and qualifying CC,

*At the Swedish KC four All Breeds International Shows in Vadstena July 16 to 19 
we were especially pleased with our achievements under Bo Bengtson (Bohem), where 
Airescot Bob Fest won the CC, CACIB and BOS, handled by his new owner Elisabeth Levén,
Airescot Brilliant Bistro was second best male and Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion fifth best male,
handled by their owners Gunnel Eksvärd and Birgitta Linderoth resp.
Ch Airescot Royal Occasion was second best bitch and also had the winning progeny group.
And finally the Airescots were the winning breeder's group.

*At the four day Swedish circuit our Norwich Terrier Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only
was BOB every day winning four CACIB's and one Group III,
always handled by Nan Salminen.

*From the Sobresalto kennels we have just heard that "Spencer",
Am/Can Ch Airescot Gold Field, has arrived in Italy to spend two years there
on lease from Sharon Sakson and Jenny McCartney.

*Also July 7th Åke Cronander won BOB, Group-1 and BIS-2 
at the SKK All Breeds show at Visby, Gotland,
with his homebred young bitch Albicans Hera Karsk, co-owned by Gunnel Lönn.

June 30

*Another most amazingly successful weekend is over.
On Saturday in England June Minns handled Rascal to his third CC and BOB
at Paignton Championship Show. Whippet history has thus been written,
as Rascal is the first Scandinavian bred Whippet ever 
to gain the English champion title.

*On Sunday in Norway Arne Foss for the second time in a row 
handled Ch Airescot Royal Occasion, "Ocki" to her friends, 
to win BOB, CACIB and Group II
at an International Norwegian KC show, this time in Trondheim.
Breed and group judge: Ole Staunskjaer, Denmark

*Also on Sunday, at the Swedish KC All Breeds show in Borås,
Ocki's son by Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest, Airescot Bob Fest,
won the CC and was second best dog of 27 competing males,
while her daughter by Ch Statuesque Extortion, Airescot Serene Silver,
was third best of 24 competing bitches.
To make the day complete the Airescots won best breeder's group
of five competing Whippet groups, but could not stay for the final.
The breed in Borås was judged by Garry Newton, USA.

June 23

Another two successful weekends to report from:

*June 15th at the Swedish KC All Breeds Show in Avesta
Jeannette and Peter Lindblad's 6 months old Airescot Jenny Lind 
won Best Puppy in Show.
She is by Ch Sportingfields Jazz Fest ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber.

*June 21st at Blackpool Championship Show 
June Minns handled A. Ruby Rascal to his second CC in England, 
this time judged by Patsy Gilmour (Dumbriton).
The Res. CC went to Irish Ch Collooney Silver Jigolo. Bitch CC and BOB  
was won by Shalfleet Silken Image. Reserve to her was Marchpast La Diva at Courthill.

*Critiques from Bath and Southern Counties have now appeared
in the British dog papers, and you can read the nice comments on Rascal
if you go to Rascal's page.
He has until now sired three litters in England, and more are on their way.

and also a recent picture of Rascal, taken in England the other day.

June 6

Saturday May 31 was another good day for Rascal in England, 
and for two of his offspring in Sweden.
*At Southern Counties Championship Show Rascal won his second reserve CC,
among the males only beaten by Fait Accompli at Savilepark JW.
June Minns' homebred bitch Juneric Little Flower Girl
(Ch Rum Punch of Falconcrag ex. Juneric Little Mannequin)
won her qualifying CC and BOB. Hubbestad Mustique 
(Ch Whipcat Fire Island of Courthill ex. Hubbestad Silver Lining)
won the reserve CC from Limit Class. The more than 200 Whippets
 were judged by Dennis Meakin (Oakbark).

*In Sweden Rascal's young daughter Hot Isle Extreme Empress
(bred by Annika Janson ex. Hot Isle Bisquit) 
won her first LC CC and was third best of 22 competing Whippets. 
Her litter brother was 5th best Whippet.

*On receiving a couple of pictures from the Whippet Breed Specialty
in Italy and putting them beside another couple of pictures of
related Whippets, I was thrown by the likeness between them
and by how small and tightly knit the international dog world really is.

May 26

What an incredibly long time with no updates! To begin with due to a long holiday,
and later due to catching up on all the translation work that hadn't been done
during my holiday. I could have delivered some pieces of good news earlier,
but what happened during this past weekend has to be told NOW!

*Today, at Bath Championship show, Airescot Ruby Rascal
won his first CC and BOB in England of more than 200 Whippets,
 judged by Molly Head (Demerlay Whippets) and handled by June Minns. 
BOS to him was Lowglen Silver Fern JW, (GB Ch Rum Punch of Falconcrag 
x Nevedith Yippy Yizzy of Lowglen) winning her second CC from Post Graduate.
Later Rascal made two cuts in the numerous Hound group 
(judged by Andrew Brace) and was kept among the last six.
A month ago Rascal won Res. CC at WELKS Championship show, judged by Ferelith Somerfield 
and handled by myself. At the same show his dam, Int Ch Airescot Red Redee, was second in 
a big Open Class, and at the National Whippet Association Championship show
a week later Redee won BIS Veteran, judged by Jessie McLeod and Roger Stock.

*During this past weekend Rascal was also the proud father of three CC-winners,
which he sired before leaving Scandinavia for Canada and the US in December 2001:
the male Hounds Dance the Blues (ex. Gazolin Krokett) and the bitch Albicans Hera Karsk 
(ex. Ch Albicans Elanora), who won her second CC and BOB, both judged by Arne Foss 
(Paper Moon Whippets) at an All Breeds Show in Gothenburg, Sweden. 
And Airescot Brilliant Bargain (ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber) won her second CC 
at a Sighthound Specialty in Norway.

*Saturday in Finland Leslie Crawley (Ragus Norwich and Norfolk Terriers)
judged the Finnish Championship Specialty for both her breeds
and found her BOB Norwich and her overall BIS-winner in our
Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only.

*Also in Finland, at an All Breeds show Saturday, our young Airescot Bob Fest
(by Jazz Fest ex. A. Royal Occasion) won the dog CC, and his older half sister 
Airescot Serene Silver  (by Statuesque Extortion) won the bitch res. CC. 
Whippets were judged by Jack Bispham.

April  3

A somewhat delayed report from last weekend 
which again was successful for the Airescots.
At a Sighthound Specialty further north in Sweden March 29 Maria Abrahamsson 
(Badavie Salukis) judged Whippets for the first time and gave the dog CC and BOS 
to our young Airescot Bob Fest (Jazz Fest ex. Royal Occasion). The bitch CC, her second,
was won by Airescot Serene Silver. She was also BOB and later BIS-4.

March 23

A good weekend for Airescot Whippets, in Norway and Sweden.

At the Norwegian KC International All Breeds show in Bergen Saturday Ch A. Royal Occasion 
had a good day when first time out in the hands of Arne Foss (Paper Moon's Whippets, Norway). 
For some time now "Ocki" has been living with Arne, trying to fill the empty space, which her 
half sister Ch A.Teenager left in Arne's heart and house,  when she died so suddenly last year. 
A very pleased Arne phoned to report that "Ocki" had won the breed
and was Group II in strong competition, judged by Terry Thorn. 

Also on Saturday, at a Swedish Sighthound Specialty near Stockholm, Unto Timmonen
(Woodbrooks Whippets, Finland) gave high placings to several Airescot related exhibits
from his lovely entry of more than 80 Whippets.

Our own young bitch A. Brilliant Broomstick won the CC, BOS and Best Youngster
in breed. She was later BIS-2 Youngster.

Our own bitch A. Serene Silver won the big open class and was third best bitch.

Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist, now nine years old and kept in perfect condition by Pernilla Råberg and Peter Mellberg,  was fourth best dog, best Veteran in breed and later BIS-3 Veteran.

 Bokellas Pansy Parkinson, a daughter from Irish's latest litter
 ex. Ch Bokellas My Heart Belongs to Daddy, was Best Puppy in breed. 
She was later BIS-2 Puppy, bred, owned and handled by Siv Ögren.

BOS Puppy was a son of Ch Airescot Sapphire Stallion, Adagio Image of Love, 
ex. Ch Flic Flac Kiss of Love. He was bred by Stefan Råghammar
and is owned by Birgitta and Sven-Göran Linderoth.

BOB Baby Puppy and later BIS Baby Puppy was Emagusta Bay Leaf,
a daughter of Airescot Exquisite Emerald by Ch Adagio Spending My Time With You,
bred and owned by Helen and Gunnar Söderberg.

Most rewarding to follow how Whippets, bred or owned by the Airescots,
are being successfully used by other breeders.

March 2

*No special news for some time, but yesterday was a day to remember
when our Canadian Norwich Terrier guest "James", 
Am Can and Finnish Ch Fairewood For Your Eyes Only,
won his Swedish title, BOB and Best In Show at the Swedish Terrier Club Specialty in Stockholm, judged by Swedish Terrier specialist Mats Lindborg.
Photo hopefully to come.
For a month now James has been staying in Sweden with the Airescots. His excellent
construction enables him to move like a whippet in the woods, not quite as fast perhaps,
but just as easily (in fact we think that he believes himself to be a whippet).
For the rest of his stay in Scandinavia he will be with the Airescots and the Porrigitos
in Finland alternatively, depending on where to be shown and where to do stud work.
He feels just as at home with all of us, his tail always on top.

*The puppies from Beatrix' litter by Jazz Fest are now all gone
to their new homes. To see a few recent pictures go to Beatrix/Rory-litter. 
We are sorry to disappoint all of you, who had hoped for a puppy from the 
planned litter by Jazz Fest ex. "Claudia", Airescot Spectacular Sapphire.
She did not conceive this time, but we hope for better luck at her next season,
when we plan to breed her to Jazz Fest's son Airescot Bob Fest.

Today Beatrix' puppies by Jazz Fest are 5½ weeks old,
and we have finally managed to take individual pictures of them,

Finally I seem to be connected again after my moving house. 
Sorry to have been so long without any updates!
 *First one correction: "Claudia's" proper name is 
Airescot Spectacular Sapphire. 
She is a DAUGHTER of Ch Lorricbrook Monopoly,
and it's "Claudia" who was bred to Jazz Fest in the beginning of this month,
not as written below.
*Beatrix' litter by Jazz Fest is now two weeks old and thriving.
 The first pictures of the three males and three bitches have just been taken.

*Ch Airescot Red Redee has just come in season and will hopefully be bred
to her young grandson Airescot Bob Fest (Jazz Fest x A. Royal Occasion)
in the beginning of 2003.
